I was just reading an article about Son of Sam.

I didn't like this part:

"The man inside the car turned around and smiled idiotically at them. Falotico gave him very explicit instructions to slowly get out of the car and put his hands up on the roof. The man obeyed, still smiling... Still smiling his moronic smile, he answered, 'I'm Sam. David Berkowitz.'"

Was it really necessary to say he smiled idiotically and had a moronic smile? I mean, really now.

Not necessary, but he did have a weird smile, he just looked way too happy or something.
And considering he took orders from Sam (which was his neighbours golden retriever..)
he just could not be all that smart or something, i dont know. It is an interesting case.

Yeah. I mean, bizarre would be appropriate, but describing his smile the way the article did seems somewhat biased, implying that he's stupid.

Yep, you have a point...but if were to describe that smile in that situation,
i might have used some of the same words, it looked more then weird.

I don't know...probably to show what his persona was like. The smile sounds too brief and not as eloquentially aritculate as one would probably write in a biographical book or something.

Son of a golden retriver...the thing with this guy was that he just
looked so nice and cleancut to the ladys, a polite young man

one can't really have empathy for a serial killer, specially if he was smiling as a moron

I think they deserve to have articles written about them from an objective viewpoint.

Go for the big good books instead of articles, theres tons of them,
many written by police officers that were directly involved in the cases.
The serial killers are there and to ignore them would be riddicolous, it is
interesting in a "how the mind works" way, the things some of us are
able to do. But i do not suggest looking up to them or anything.
Killing others for your own pleasure or whatever is just no good.

I'm not kidding. I want to read about what happened, not a slightly altered version of actual events that makes some people seem superior to others.

If you want to read one crazy story, look up Otis O`Toole
and Henry Lee Lucas, partners in crime for decades driving
through America. No one has a exact number, little doubt
there was over 100 victims, and some estimates goes as
high as 500 8O There are also things pointing to them
participating in a sort of cult in Mexico, that occupied
their time mainly with killing 8O
