For the first time I'm actually so stuffed that my pants aren't fitting. I'm having to keep them low and unbuttoned.

:P

I don't like Thanksgiving dinner all that much. The only good part about is the cauliflower and dinner rolls. Sometimes the wine if my family gets a good wine.

Not trying to sound unfriendly here but no sympathies were necessary. I've been a bulemic since I was 18 or 19 and I have stopped pretty much and rarely do it now. It's when I eat too much food and the holidays are one of them. I really do feel sick anyway when I eat too much.

I've got a very high metabolism so I look anorexic from the get-go. I think I have a slight beer gut though. :?

Not very. I was the one cooking dinner, so by the time it came to eating it, I just nibbled a little then went straight to bed.

I got up at 4:00 a.m. to start cooking for a noon-time meal. Turkey, ham, potatos & gravy, stuffing, confetti corn, rolls ... eight hours alone in the kitchen, with time out only for a quick shower and other necessary functions. Nobody bothered my as I sat there with my plate, my wine, and my iPod during lunch except to thank me and pass me more pie.

Mrs. Fnord and I went to Ihop for breakfast this morning. I haven't even looked at the kitchen yet!

Amusing to read how differently the holiday affects people.

It's all in the expectations, and in the preparations for them.

If you know that the day will likely be stressful due to the noise and the confusion, then volunteer to help out in the kitchen, where planning and routine are desireable and can make the preparations go faster.

Thanksgiving is one of the few days I can eat a meal and be full for the rest of the day @_@

At least I didn't make my stomach hurt this year...I even remembered to save room for dessert ;)

I didn't really eat that much. One plate of food and a bit of pie. Surprisingly, we didn't have any pumpkin pie this year! 8O

My family hates turkey. So do I. no taste.

But every year the company gives the employees one turkey this time of the year. Really nice of them.

I hate to waste food so rather than cooking the turkey 'the old way' ...

we took it apart, pulled the flesh from the bones, put it all in our slow cooker, added potatoes, turkey flavored bullion cubes, seasoning, garlic, chopped onions, mushrooms, pepper, a squirt of yellow mustard, a small amount of powdered 'instant' mashed potato flakes (to give it some consistency)

4 hours later added powdered chili flavor (as in mexican dish chili flavor not spicy chiles).

2 hours later.. it was done.

Chili Turkey Pot Roast.
