I speak English as my first language... I'm very good in English, but I'm still learning vocabulary and how to express myself, though people say I'm really good at it. I can carry on a conversation in French... even though many times I don't know how to say things in French, I understand nearly everything in French conversations had by other people. I only know a few words of Russian, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Polish, Mohawk, and probably some others. :)

My first language was German. I learned English at age six, and Spanish in high school. Today, the only language I speak really well is English. I would like to learn Greek.

American English plus:

Basic Hungarian. Man, this language sucks and it's probably one of the worst in the world to learn.

Good Arabic. I spent eight years working in the Middle East.

My native language is Dutch. I've learned English at school and by reading a lot of English/American literature, and of course through the internet (like this forum). At school I've also learned German and French, but my German and French are a little dusty as I rarely ever get to speak it.

I also learned Latin and a little Ancient Greek at school, but I don't really "speak" those languages. I can read them with some effort and with the help of a dictionary.

I know a few words Romanian because my mother is from Romania (a lot of relatives of mine live there). Just sentences like "how are you" and "nice to meet you" and such.

English, the sort of Scottish dialect of English and French.I'm better at reading French than
speaking it.In my work I've occasionally phoned France and although they might understand
me,one person laughed at my accent. :(
I'm interested in etymology,the study of words,so I can recognise a number of Italian,Spanish,
German and Gaelic words.

English. I've been learning Spanish for the past 5 years; I know enough to carry on a conversation (assuming I have something to say). I'm better at just understanding and reading it though. It has actually come in handy on the trips to Georgia though.

Fluent in English, about halfway fluent in French.

For some reason I have a much easier time speaking French. The words just flow more smoothly and I make a lot less mistakes when I'm speaking French. Sometimes I think in a strange combination of French and English. My mind automatically chooses the quickest and smoothest language for each individual word so I can think with maximum efficiency. It's pretty cool, actually :).

English, just English.
I had French lessons, but I hate the language and can't use it very well. I'd much prefer to learn German.
