This may not be an AS-related thing, but does anyone make up or follow mottos for a quicker way of giving reasons?

With me, I really hate throwing clothes and shoes away before they become unwearable. For example, my mum often says to me, ''you ought to go out and buy some new trainers, and throw those ones out now,'' and usually I say, ''but they haven't got to the stage where they're letting in the wet or anything, so why keep jumping from one pair of shoes to another so quickly?''
To explain this, I use a motto I made up:
You don't bury a person 'til they're dead.

I'm a fan of the traditional Wiccan rede that goes something like "an it harm none, do what ye will." It basically means that you are free to do whatever you want as long as you don't hurt anybody. That's pretty much my outlook toward life. Even though I'm not Wiccan, I really like many of its tenets.

There is no such thing as "sane"

And

to desire to be normal is to aspire to be a jack***

I'm also an "honesty is the best policy" kind of guy.

If it ain't broke; don't fix it.~ I screwed-up my old computer quite a lot by trying to improve it.

Trying is the 1st step towards failure.~ I think Homer Simpson said that quote 1ce. I accidentally made lots of things worse in my life by trying to improve my situation in life. I would of been a lot better off if I would of just accepted my circumstances the way they were.

The key to Happiness is lower standards. It's part of a tittle of a fake self-help book by singing comedian Steve Goodie. I have been complaining/ranting about people's high standards with fining relationship partners for years. No one is perfect. I'm NOT looking for a perfect person; I've been looking for anyone I can get but NO one is willing to give me a chance  I haven't bought Steve's book yet but it can be sampled on his site here~ http://stevegoodie.com/ahtls2/index.html

"Always ready" (ready aye ready! / nunquam non paratus / never unprepared) is the family motto. Always said sarcastically in this house. :)

Big is beautiful.

Always be yourslf, no matter what.

One I recently made up was:

"If from time to time it's necessary to be a **** to get somewhere in life, I'm happy to achieve nothing."

I will not trust anyone who insist that they are different from a negative stereotype about the group or category they are in~ It's been my experience that people in those groups who get extremely argumentative about it are upset because it hits close to home for em & are arguing because they don't want you to believe the truth about em. I'll give an example. There were a few people I worked with who were constantly arguing about how people thought they were lazy workers because of their race; they were some of the laziest people I worked with & the workers of that race who didn't argue about the stereotype were much better workers.

"Just a wolf wandering near the world of man"

It's just more of something I made up to describe myself because I always felt unaccepted by society.
