I thought it might be fun to post your ideas on good dvds for other members to rent.

Okay my first suggestion is the Sliders Seasons 1 & 2 collection.

Other good new movie are Greener Mountains and December Boys. Also I love watching the movie Dear Frankie that came out a few years ago. Its a beautiful story and I like the scenery. Oh and another Touching Wild Horses.

And if you want to see a movie just to look at a hot body then rent Club Dread. The movie sucks, but Brittany Daniel is so sexy it almost hurts to look at her. She's also sexy in Joe Dirt, but again bad film.

Anybody who hasn't seen the new Batman The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger, is recommended to go see it. It is definitely a worth-while film to see, especially for action movie enthusiasts. Two thumbs up. :thumleft: :thumright:

Ticker, what are you talking about? :P Joe Dirt was a hilarious movie, and one of my favorites. I suppose that just is my opinion, but I found it very funny. (and yes, Brandy was super hot)

I agree with jawbrodt, Joe Dirt is hilarious and the ending is cool where he has his family to look after him. Morons From Outer Space is a very funny movie to rent.

Any good sci-fi or action films? I don't like movies which suck but have nice "eye candy." When I watch a movie, I want a MOVIE, not a painting.

Sliders is a really good sci-fi series on dvd. There hasn't been good sci-fi come out in years. As far as action film Bourne Identity was good, though 2nd and 3rd sequels were not. Prince Caspian is a good fantasy movie better than the first one.

There was a new sci-fi movie came out last year, can't remember the name of it and don't know if it was good.

Perhaps The Simpsons Movie. It's quite old but a good film. :D

I loved Red Eye. Also American Werewolf In London, which hardly anyone has seen, but it is totally awesome and very funny (not scary at all despite being an 18. Just enough violence to make it good, LOL).

I'd have thought that the point of this thread was to suggest that people go rent a film that they may otherwise not have heard of...
Everyone who was interested in the Dark Knight or the Simpsons movie will have seen it by now. (BTW: I hated the Dark Knight but re-evaluated it in a good light on DVD when I had subtitles to provide me with all the nuances).

anyway... I'll stop sounding snooty (hopefully) ... .sorry...

My suggestion is;

Joyeux Noel.

It sounds foreign but it's not really. The people speak their natural languages, English, French and German.

Not sure if its on DVD yet, but Tin Man was pretty cool. It aired on Sci Fi some time ago.

Motorcycle Diaries. It came out in 2004. My other favourite, although most people have probably seen it, is Resevoir Dogs. I love Tarantino's older stuff.

I talked my wife into seeing it - she hates superhero films - hated Spiderman, Batman etc... but liked Iron Man. She gave Hellboy II the thumbs up. That's a pretty good recommendation IMHO.
