Random question.

I've been considering getting a little pet. I'd like a bird as a companion. Is anyone here bird savvy and able to tell me the pros and cons for the cockatiel and cockatoo - Apart from the obvious size difference and the tendency for the later to become destructive?

I've had cockatiels before, I'm not a very big fan...the females are okay, though a bit too docile, but every time we got males, they'd be such angry little buggers. Idunno, maybe it depends on how they're raised...we had a lot of babies that we raised ourselves that turned out fine.

I really like conures, but they're a bit expensive  They're very smart, and cuddly...and they eat with their feet =D When we had one, his cage was in the dining room, and I'd feed him table scraps (noodles, rice, things like that).

We have two Lovebirds. The female is a bit territorial, but the male loves to ride around on our shoulders. They don't talk, but they have different squeeks and squawks to let you know what they approve of, or don't. They're small, colourful, and easy to take care of. Despite their size they can really nip you if they want to.

My mom has a cockatiel.

It never shuts up, though, so you'll need alot of tolerance and patience.
