A lot of you know that I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth extracted today so I thought I would let everyone know how I'm doing instead of PMing everyone (don't feel like taking the time).

I had a blast until after the procedure. That laughing gas stuff frickin awesome!! I had never been so relaxed in my entire life. I did giggle a little but I was mostly stoned. I was sitting there contemplating what I would do if I were God and all kinds of things. It made my voice very deep too. The last thing I remember clearly was when the surgeon gave me the anesthetic. After the surgery however, I was in excruciating pain. Luckily the pain meds he gave me are really powerful, so much so that it is a felony for a pharmacist to refill them!

I'm feeling okay now, still in a little pain and groggy but I feel like myself again other than that. I may sign off for the rest of the day pretty soon so I can rest.

And that is my current status for those how were concerned. :)

i still have all of mine *knocks wood*

me and some friends did N2O (laughing gas) for fun once, we used a cream-dispenser, gas pressurised (the gas is... N2O)

so we just sprayed the gas into ourselves, and went stupid for a while

laughing gas has actually KILLED dentists (abusers, obviously) before, because eager people may forget that it doesnt really contain O2. just O. and they may suffocate.

KIDS!! ! DONT DO WHAT ZEGH DOES >:0

I have three wisdom teeth and have not have them removed. However, they have messed up my perfectly straight teeth (nine months of braces for nothing). I suspect I'll be going back to the dentist in a month or so. Luckily for me, I'm on my dentist's good side because I've never had any cavities so he's never too tough on me.

Oh I replied on the I confess thread before I noticed this one. Doh!

Anyway that's great that you're doing ok :) I have heard that nitrous oxide is good stuff although I myself have not had the pleasure. The pain is bad but vicodin (probably what they gave you or a knockoff) is excellent for the pain. I loved that stuff. It made me feel so relaxed and happy :)

It's going to be really annoying for the next couple of weeks but you'll get through it!

Thank you for updating us :)

I was prescribed hydrocodone (same stuff in vicodin only sans the acetaminophen). I found it absolutely dreadful; especially harsh on the stomach. Better than the alternative I suppose. I wonder if vicodin is significantly different or if I'm just weird on that one :chin:

Oh good at least you got it over with.

I always hated the idea of having my wisdom teeth yanked out but loved the STUFF they gave me... :drunken:

Vicodin is exactly the same as hydrocodone(generic version), and contains the same amount of acetaminophen, so it wouldn't help to switch. The only difference is the shape and stamp on the pill.

I'm glad to hear everything went OK at the dentist SF. 8) I'll be next.

Well, hydrocodone is actually a single drug, although I'm not familiar with how the name is used in marketing, and you are right that what I was prescribed was probably the same as Vicodin as I've looked it up now and hydrocodone is not available in pure form in the United States due to regulation.

Hydrocodone Apap is what contains aceteminophen. The aceteminophen is what activates the hydrocodone to work more efficiently. That's why vicodin works the way it does.

If you were prescribed just hydrocodone, without the apap, well that would be an entirely different story.

Thanks everyone. I wish I could get that laughing gas every day but the nurse said it shouldn't be abused. I could have died and not gave a crap about it. I don't remember very much of today after it was over and I'm still kinda stoned. Plus I keep hiccuping and it's really annoying! :x

The pain medication I'm on is called Meprozine. The bottom of the bottle says "Fed. Law Prohibits Refill". I knew it had to be pretty powerful reading that and I was correct.

Ooooh, I could get myself into trouble with that stuff.
