I personally say it's sky magenta but the wannabe hex nut wants to say baby blue.

I don't realy know much about this subject, but the colour that came to mind when I thought the number was yellow.

To me, 44 is light red, because 4 is light red to me.

It sounds like a C minor accord struck on the piano to me therefor I think it's a nice green blue colour.

But only when it rains, of course. :D

I find it interesting how many here synaesthesise colours from numbers by the iterations of graphemes more so than the numeric or arithmetic qualities of the number as I did. For example, 4 is only a purple but I do not factor in that 44 is consisting of two 4's.
