I heard about "Swine Flue" Yesterday, in Mexico, now it's in America, Canada, and is being looked for in middle east and europe. I'm in England (North East) , and an wondering when (not if) it will enter England, and start killing people here. If it gets to middle east, then troops coming back to england, france, germany, will bring it here, and troops from america may bring it there. I really am considering moving to Antarctic, there's penguins there, it's snowy, and there's no annoying nabours. Shame family dosen't agree... Please post f you have any ideas to avoid it, or when it will get here. :shaking:

A little since it's a pandemic and viruses are always evolving.

I just hope it doesn't spread here but if it does, I'm ready and prepared! :rambo:

Does this mean I shouldn't order things from the U.S.? (contamination by packages?)

*lives in Europe*

Is it not possible to take precautions? Like vaccinations or stuff like that...
Or a way to treat it once you've caught it...

...or Mexico since that's where it's mostly happening.

Anyway, if you're that scared of food, I wouldn't trust coming from even your own backyard. If it does turn to an epidemic, stick with canned food and make sure to wear air suits that don't have any tears in them.

I'm not. I don't watch the pollution you would call News.

I haven't heard of this yet. I just looked it up, and it looks like it's done less damage than bird flu so far. So I'm pretty much nnnnooot gonna be worrying about this, personally. 12 people is not a pandemic. D:
Anyway I'm barely ever near swine.

Things you might want to give more priority to, if you're going to be paranoid about disease:
MRSA, cancer

Not really worried because I hardly ever even leave my house. When I do leave my house, I tend to avoid people. Maybe I'd catch it if the swings at the park were contaminated... but I doubt it.

I'd be slightly more worried for my RL friend... she catches everything if it's around. Hopefully it won't come in her area of living.

Why are they worried that it will become a pandemic? They were worried about the bird flu doing the same exact thing and nothing happened! What in total it killed 2 people? The bird flu was huge a few years back. Then it was SARS (or something along those lines). Don't worry, this isn't the next Black Death or anything like that! To the person that mentioned MRSA, I actually got that because my mom picked it up in the hospital in February and it entered a wound of mine. Its a lot more common than you think. But once you have it, I think it never goes away. Not everyone with MRSA has a deadly disease, but it can be deadly if left untreated and it enters a wound. I survived!

Seriously don't watch the news! They're don't care about reporting real news. All they want to report is varying degrees of death and destruction. I gave up watching the news a long time ago, and it's been liberating.

All these mentions on the radio and TV make me nervous.

I'm not that worried, I was a little before.

It's not as deadly as the bird flu, but it is nasty and there is a chance you can die from it.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with it. :chin:

It killed 100 people in Mexico, an over crowded, poor place with bad health care. Has it killed anyone in a first world country? No. It won't be a pandemic.

not worried at all. First it was radioactive fish in Ireland, then HIV, SARS, Bird Flu, and now swine flu. I'm sure this flu's bad, but it's not the end of the world :)
