I find YOU in contempt!

So much for separation of church and state, huh?

Must feel all high and mighty dictating how people should live their lives.

You know, I probably don't need to tell anyone this but laws are in place and are made to protect people and property from harm. No harm comes from two people of the same gender who love each other getting married.

Prop 8, banning gay marriage, was upheld. The bright side is any gay marriages before prop 8 was passed still count.

Don't you know? If your neighbors are a gay couple, it'll radiate through the walls and turn you and your children gay too.

I just hope the person who finds the cure for cancer/Parkinson's/Alzheimer's/diabetes/AIDS is a flaming homosexual.

It's so weird that it was a normally progressive state like California where that happened.

Exactly. The Supreme Court had the opportunity to take a wrong and make it right again and they failed.

Shouldn't this sort of thread be in the PPR?

That being said, I suspect Fred Phelps and/or his ilk behind Proposition 8.

If someone could be so kind as to actually give us a summary of the decision (I'm afraid I don't speak a word of legalese), that would be most helpful before concluding that the California court acted in such a way that it did not adhere to its legal duties.

Actually the mormon church had a very big role. Most people wouldn't listen to that Psycho Phelps - he's hated by nearly everyone outside his church (which consists of his extended family.)

Psychos have ways of making their voices held. I remember when he was interviewed by A Current Affair over here in Australia about his intention to picket Heath Ledger's death...

I would so love to see some Navy SEALS or Marines kick his ass when he pickets a funeral...
