Yeah, I forgot about this being about nouns. I was just glad I came up with something non-English starting with 'q' at all, so I failed to consider that 'what' isn't a noun.

Yes, it's spelled this lame way---neither the etymological whisk[e]y, or whatever Gaelic spelling, nor the full phonetic adaptation güisqui.

Didn't you at least think of quijote?---uncapitalized, as a common noun meaning a quixotic person :P

I think you, the creator of the thread (= the rule maker), decided that it didn't have to be a noun. I think I posted some verbs because of that. Or did I get it wrong? Can we post any part of speech?

Yes, I remember saying that, and I still think any word in any language than English is okay to post. I just thought no one else took up on it.
I'm changing the game title to "A-Z Of Words In Any Language But English". That way we can pick whatever we want.

Øye (please note, this is an ø, not on o. The next letter is either å or a)

Ångström

A unit of measurement used in atomic and molecular sciences (which is what I majored in at uni :P ). Originally from Swedish and normally written in English as "angstrom", but with the unit symbol Å. Here's a diagram showing the sizes of several (very small) objects in angstroms.

Next letter is "A".
