English never fails to confuse me on a regular basis. Just about EVERY other language(besides maybe French) tends to make more sense.

Speaking of English, I'll say some funny things in it. This is from the Simpsons.

Ralph: "Me fail English? That's unpossible!"
My brother is hilarious! He said, "The conductor conducted. They're building a building. The explosion exploded. The teacher teaches."
Only in English can you do that!

I'm not so experienced with Swedish and Danish, but hop it's the close-to-correct translation

Jeg liker å stikke innom Wrongplanet mange ganger om dagen, denne siden er rå! (Norwegian)

Jag likar å stikke innom Wrongplanet manga ganger om dagen, denna sidan er rolig! (Swedish)

Jeg liger å stikke innom Wrongplanet mange ganger om dagen, denne siden er smuk! (Danish)

I like to visit Wrongplanet many times daily, this site is awesome! (Translation)

The Danish translation is much like Norwegian, I think... I would translate your sentence like this:

Jeg kan (godt) lide at kigge ind på Wrongplanet mange gange om dagen, denne side er fantastisk!

"Smuk" wouldn't be incorrect, but it rather means "beautiful".

You could say "rå" like in Norwegian. "Sej" would also do.

The Swedish "rolig" would translate as "sjov". NB: don't confuse it with the Danish meaning of "rolig", which is "quiet"!

I chose "fantastisk" as a translation of "awesome".

Jeg kan også godt lide at kigge ind på Wrongplanet, dog gør jeg det for det meste kun én gang om dagen.

N: Jeg liker wrongplanet

D: Jeg kan lige wrongplanet

S: Jag gillar köttbullar diggilo-diggilei

perkele, yksi, kaksi, suomi, ruotsi, thats the finnish words i know. and let me just tell you, its like 5 times more than what the average norwegian knows

That's OK, I don't know what it would be like if I tried to write in Norwegian...

Maybe I just should quote something instead of inventing something myself:

Jeg laget grøt av ei ku, men den er tydeligvis ikke død. Selv om kua er most til grøt, sier den fortsat mø. (Fattern.)
(It's written from the memory, so there may be errors anyway.)

Translation: I made porridge out of a cow, but it's apparently not dead. Even though the cow is minced into porridge, it continues saying moo.

-soupir- je ne resterai pas très longtemps, alors voilà : meuh

= -sigh- i'm not going to stay for too long, so here goes : moo

meuh? thats funnily close to the pronounciation of "mø" norwegian moo!

Icelandic may be interesting. I know some Faroese people, I can't understand what they say when they speak Faroese (maybe catch a word or two sometimes), but read some of it. But there are too many unknown words, so I often miss what it's about.

can you read norse?
ive tried reading the poetic edda, the kings sagas, not ALL of it, reading exhausts me, but portions

the coolest is to read w a translated version, that way you get the "aha-experience!" w all the words you dont get, cus theyre usually surprisingly similar, only you were "reading it wrong"

i know an icelandic family, but im not near them enough to know anything theyre talking about.
the coolest think about icelandic is that it sounds EXACTLY like norwegian, to me, it sounds like a dialect, that ive missed, and that i cant understand
it has the same sounds, the same rythm, the same melody, its almost frustrating, cus i "instinctively" expect to understand it, based on the sound and rythm allone. its as if someone speaks to me in norwegian, and ive gone braindamaged and cant understand

I can't read Norse as far as I know, I mean I've never tried. But I guess it will be kind of the same as looking at a Faroese or Icelandic text; to recognise some words, even some sentences, but not getting all of the text.

I had a teacher at the theological study, his mother was Norwegian, and part of his childhood he lived on the Faroe Islands, so he's kind of multi Nordic (can also speak both Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and Faroese), and in his lessons we also read some texts by Swedes and had to read them in Swedish, but when we came to the Finnish Luther-research, we were allowed to read the texts in English... Fortunately!

yeah theyre both very similar, and as you say, a word or two, a rare entire sentence

and about finnish, i KIIINDA feel guilty, as a scandinavian, for neglecting the language-family, especially since we got lapps in norway aaand norway has the biggest lapp population. i should at least know ONE lapp word, but i dont :I
not a single one.
i know maybe 5 finnish words, and zero lappish words :I and we know for damn sure lapps know norwegian, i even know "hello" in chinese, but not in lappish :S
