I started learning it in December 2008, but stopped learning and using it awhile ago. Now I can't speak it nearly as well as I used to be able to. I love Norway and Norwegian, and the culture and the people, I really want to speak Norwegian. :D

Norwegian-American, and among the first generation of non-purebred Norwegians in my family (I'm half Norwegian and half German), even though my family has been in America since 1860! That's how things work being from Minnesota, I guess. LOL

I've traced my tree family back to the mid 1600's, near Stavanger on the island of Karmøy (according to the Bygdeboks, Skudnes, was the name of the fylkke before something changed). I've been trying to learn Norwegian thru some of the various people who are teaching it via You Tube videos, which is why I popped in to this forum.

Kjedelig.

Not born in Norway, but I have strong Norwegian ancestry.

My great-grandparents were Swede-Norwegian, a mixed marriage
