Les automobilistes vont surement trouver ça très ennuyeux mais en conduite automobile, on est censé être maître de son véhicule. C'est dans le code de la route et ce n'est pas moi qui l'ai inventé.

that'd be "est" instead of "soyez". Verbs that end with z in french usually are in the second person of the plural form, OR the imperative tense (as if you'd give an order, command or advice), which is the case with "jouez".

But don't you "command" that the music be the food of love? (Yes, I know it's a really abstract concept)

Nope. You "notice" that the music is the food of love. But "play !" is an order.
