Jo parlo una mica de Catala.

Com es que parles Catala? Coneixes l'institut Catala a Houston, Texas?

Jo tambe soc Nord-America, i visc a California. Fan uns 3 anys que estic aprenent Catala.

I´m curious about how come you want to learn catala? is it because of Dali or Gaudi?
Do you also speak spanish? and french?
Catala is a mixture of both but its more like speaking french with spanish accent...

After a holiday in Catalonia (Calafell) during my childhood I became interested in Spanish, but at the time Catalan seemed invisible. So I wanted to find out more about the language. There was no internet yet, so 8 years later I returned to Catalonia and I bought two dictionaries and a course book.

I want to translate some of this Catalan into French (by using cognates instead of a best, idiomatic translation) for comparison:

Haha, I often do that too. I like finding and (ab-)using cognates. Etymology: one of the most interesting subjects ever.

Ahora em toca a mi. He viscut 3 anys a barcelona y he pres tres cursos de català. Encara cerco persones que siguin AS/ADD y no he trobat ningu. Si hi ha algu, encara que sigui de valencia o al menys de zaragoza. Envieu-me un missatge si us plau. També fa 3 anys que se que soc AS, es una historia una mica llarga. Catalan is awesome, I wish to learn it someday, particularly southern Valencian, but also the standard. It's my favorite Romance language; I love the sound, especially the abundance of consonant clusters (as compared to Spanish for example) and diphthongs, and the culture and Catalonia. And it's quite close to Basque Country, the best place on Earth. I'd like to share my favorite Catalan songs:
