my opinion is never going to stop anyone from having an abortion. I am not going to support their children but they CAN get a court order for child support from the father.

The morning after pill is easy to get and I don't know why people don't use it.

Some homeless women get pregnant on purpose because then they know they will be offered better housing options.

Unwanted/unplanned children can be given up for adoption. People only seem to be told that if they do that, the government will take away the other children they have or future children. I don't know if that is true.

Contraception doesn't always work, no matter how safe you are and how many methods you use. And if you don't know anything's gone wrong, then you aren't going to take the morning after pill, are you?

Sadly I'm speaking from experience here...

I have heard that from a few people. They didn't take their pill at exactly the same time everyday or they were travelling and somehow they didn't get it right with the time zone or just forgot.

Not just that, I have a friend with a daughter now thanks to condoms and fertility monitoring (neither of which failed, so how she came about is a mystery - my friend only found out she was pregnant at 18 weeks, at which point she felt it was too late to abort, even though she wanted to). She loves her daughter, but it was certainly a wake-up call. I also have friends who've had abortions thanks to the pill and condoms, again neither of which failed (no skipping pills, no taking them late, no illness, no travel etc).

I am 100 % Pro-Life. I believe that every baby should be able to live, no matter what. Dawn

I am pro-choice. I think taking away someone's choice on what to do with their body is wrong.

I'm pro choice, But if I was having the baby I'd keep it it. Even if it did have a fatal defect, or some sort of disease. The exception is if it's only going to live for a month or under after birth.

It makes me really sad that Obama is pro-choice, because he's the one I want to vote for due to his plans that could potentially revolutionize the way autistic people live.

Same here. I'm no big McCain fan either, so my adherence to the Pro-life mindset is really going to put a bind on the person I want to lead our country. Too bad the candidate I wanted to stay in the race had backed down.

As our country was founded on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, I cannot in good conscience vote for someone whose policies translate into, "eh--two out of three ain't bad".

Pro choice 100%, although personally I wouldn't have an abortion unless there was a defect - I feel strongly about that as my mom was forced to carry my baby brother to term since abortion was illegal although the ultrasounds showed he didn't have a brain. It changed her. But I think that is each woman's choice to make, not the government.
On the other hand, figuring out birth control isn't hard. I try not to judge when I read that someone had 4 or 5 or "too many to count" abortions (Sherri Sheperd said that), but I do make a judgment on their intelligence. I can't imagine that the 97-99% accuracy of birth control would result in the same people using it correctly and getting pregnant multiple times.

I am pro-life, anti-abortionist under any circumstances. I totally agree with all of shopaholics posts. I am surprised at no mention of God and the Bible. I know that I am in a great minority here and cannot answer some questions like the soul created at conception and then dividing into twins later. I only know that God can bring you through anything, including an unplanned pregnancy. The mystery behind the failure of the contraceptives is that we believe we plan our children but I believe that God does. Every child is a blessing from God. I have an adopted cousin that is a product of rape of the father of the daughter. I'm not sure if he knows but he is loved and has a good life. I also have a friend that had a baby girl stillborn early at only 1 1/2 lbs. There was a nurse at the hospital that had lost a baby and her special job is to encourage mothers to dress, hold, love and say good-bye to their babies. God does not promise a perfect life but He promises to carry you through if you ask. Babies are not fetuses, parasites, lumps of tissue, ect... I do believe that most use abortion as birth control and the instances where a mother's life is in danger are very rare. I also cannot understand the many women that would never have an abortion but support others to have the choice. The reason that our country is deteriorating is due to abortions and putting God out of our schools and courthouses. I could go on and on, but I'm not........

Not all people have the same view of god as you do, thus stressing the importance of choices and options. I don't think god is telling people to 'have sex to get preagnent' or 'go rape that girl because I feel she should have a baby'

People make the situation as they happen.

I realize that everyone does not have my view of God but they should! Seriously, I feel that God can use bad for good and turn any situation around, including an unwanted pregnancy. Also, these bad things would not happen if the Ten Commandments (Thou shall not commit adultery!) were followed but God does give us free will because He loves us. We cannot control the bad things that happen in our lives but we can control our reaction to them.

I'm very pr-choice. Every woman should have the right to choose. There should be no unwanted babies in the world.

Well perhaps God made quite a mistake giving us our own *free will*( Dubious that we really have much at all)
In any case, I think God should be the one to correct his mistakes and stop trying to put the burden on us to do it :x .

:P

I definitely don't agree with it being used as birth control, nor being taken lightly or done without a lot of thought and consideration, but as someone who's been there due to very, very careful use of birth control failing without any sign of it doing so I'll say that no matter how careful you are and how much you look after yourself, sometimes these things do happen! And yes, I know what you mean about things 'changing you'... the experience changed me completely and I had that choice, as gut-wrenching as it was. I really feel for your Mum.
