I used to chew on my hair, compulsively lick my fingers and use them to slick back my bangs, and run my hands through my hair, which made it extremely oily. I'm so glad I'm not alone in this!

Oh my God, yes!

Lol; I thought I was the only one who did that.

As I am still a child (kind of ) I still do that.
Not so much hair twirling (though I do that too) but I used to chew on my hair constantly.

Exact same here- I find myself still twirling it frequently, though, not only when I'm nervous. I grew out of the chewing too though, haha

My hair has never been long enough to chew on... but I have twirled my hair ever since it has been long enough in grade 9. I will never have short hair again, as I just like mylong hair so much more. I cant wait for it to get long enugh that I can get it nicely layered. :)

I chewed my hair for a few months, mainly because I was anxious about being in a new school.

 Ha ha, yeah. I used to chew it ragged, and pull out individual hairs or clumps.
I still twirl it to this day, smell my conditioner's scent, and scratch at my scalp

oh dear.

I twirl or tug on a clump. whenever it's long enough, I'll suck on a strand of it and pull it between my lips, over and over.

I've decreased the frequency of the above, but...

I also pull out individual hairs (usually along my forehead hairline) if it feels wrong for them to be growing where they are. this behavior has increased.

is this aspie or OCD behavior? my shrink says I have attributes of both, but it didn't occur to me that the hair thing qualified as one of those things.

I used to twirl my hair when I was bored in class, but I stopped when I realized I was getting knots in my hair as a result of twirling my hair.

I used to twirl my hair when I was a child, until my mother cut it short. :(

I also smell my hair too. I also have this weird habit of pulling strands down over my face and twirl it over the end of my nose. I probably look like a right div but who cares.

Not only did I chew and twirl my hair as a child, I still hair-twirl a lot. It's in fact my main stim. I don't chew anymore, but do occasionally stick a bit ofhair between my teeth.
