So they can keep it in the dating forum. I don't appreciate being hit on when talking about overly heavy periods, for one...

Why can one see the women's but not the men's discussions from the log-in page ? I expected both to be hidden, not visible on forum index until after one signs in (like haven & adult issues).

what is the point of having an area for women if men participate, as well? then it is just the general forum, or perhaps the adults forum.

if I want to ask other women's opinions about a weird ass rash or something, I don't want a guy answering me.

not that I have a weird ass rash.

hale_bopp, do you think young women could be allowed in this forum, since some can be adolescents. I am an adolescent myself.

i don't think it's a women's forum at all, it's like the adults forum,
apparently if there is a topic about periods here, more men are answering than women ...
i don't know whether i think it should be closed to men, it can be quite nice, a lot of women together,
but i'm not really the 'lock the door' kind of person...
but what's the sense of a women's forum then?

What if what the guy has to say can save you from months of discomfort or pain?

Is it true you've been banned before? Why do you hate women?

anyone who violates
2. Personal attacks.
This includes insinuation, ridicule and personal insults, regardless of whether direct or indirect. Attacking an opinion, belief or philosophy is acceptable, but attacking the person making the comments is not.

Should be banned permanently.

Not if immaturity leads to them making spam threads such as "damn women".

If this question has been answered, I can't find it. Would like to know WHY the women's forum is viewable to non-members (or when one is not signed in), yet the men's discussion is hidden (until one logs in) ? Shouldn't the 2 sections be treated equally, in terms of (relative) "privacy" ? If it's intentional there must be some reason, and if it's accidental it would've been fixed by now.

Yes, they should be treated the same.

Maybe the men's forum was too rude?

Yay for revival of the rules question. . . There seems to be reasonable consensus on this thread that we want guys in the women's forum on a limited basis only. . .

How does everyone feel about letting guys post to request permission to post on a given topic, with the thread originator being the one to decide? And then other than that, no guys unless specifically invited, or specifically allowed for that thread?

Thoughts. . . anyone?

I appear to be in the minority but I think it would be nice to have a place (this forum or a different one) where men were entirely banned so women could talk about things they don't want men to hear. And vice-versa if men want that. This is probably impractical and unenforceable I understand, but that's my wish and this is the topic.

Failing that, I think this forum's description on the index page is misleading vs what it actually is. "This is a place where women can feel safe to be themselves. NO guys allowed!" That is likely to lead naive newbie women to believe they can come here and talk to women only when in reality many men here totally violate that clearly defined boundary. It is NOT a place for a woman to feel totally safe because men read and write here all the time.

Right now, this is more a "talk about women stuff, men and boys welcome" forum right now than a safe place for women only, and I think it should be labeled as it actually is (or changed to match its label but I don't think that's in the cards).
