Eight. In a camp swimming pool. The nurses would only say "YOU'RE BECOMING A WOMAN!"

I was 15 but I didn't get it again until 9 months later when I was 16 years old. I remember the first day of my period being January 17 because that was also the day I got my braces. I remember I accidentally left my pajamas in the bathroom and my grandma found my pajamas and noticed blood on them so she told my mum. They knew I got my period before I did which was kind of embarrassing and then everything was done in a rush because it was almost time for my dentist appointment.

The second time I got my period when I was 16, I was at Canada's Wonderland and the blood leaked right through my pants. I wasn't prepared because the last time I got it was 9 months before. My mum had to buy me a new pair of pants.

I got mine a week after my twelfth birthday. I can remember because it was the day after I read a report that won a prize at my local DAR chapter.

Yikes!

I start mine when I was 10 years old and 9 months. I was at school and it was right before gym class, which was the first class of the day. We were doing a gymnastics unit. I was too embarrassed to tell the teacher and apparently, I was the first one in the whole school to get it. I didn't tell my mom the first time, I thought she would be mad because she told that "I wouldn't get in for another few years". I told her the second time and she didn't get mad.

I got it between the ages of 11 and 12. My only knowledge of it was what I read myself in an old medical textbook, and I failed to understand that it was RECURRING. I thought the period was a one time event. I was quite surprised when it returned the next day at school!

My mother was always very aloof, so I wasn't sure how to tell her about it, so I didn't. I spent the first year stuffing paper towels and tissue in my underwear and hoping for the best; it was awful. When I was 13, I got a job, so I was able to buy my own sanitary items. I never told my mom, and I don't think she knew I'd already had it until almost four years later, when my younger sister got hers.

Around 12 or 13 and that was that. I didn't have any unpleasant or embarrassing experiences or whatever. It was kind of stressful if it was happening when I wanted to go swimming however because I was afraid to use tampons.

I had just turned 14, and it was quite inconvenient, as I was learning to cope with something at the start of high school to which many of my peers were already accustomed.

I was ten. It was at the beginning of fifth grade in school. Back then I was convinced that because I started earlier than any of the people I knew, my boobs would be bigger (I thought because I started develop earlier, I would have longer time to develop boobs) but sadly I never got up past a B.

I was 11 years old - I was the first of my friends and had expected to be because every other part of me developed so early, with the exception of my breasts as I was completely flat chested until my twenties...where as my friends developed huge breasts in their early teens. It started in gym - our changing rooms were flooded so we had to get changed in the gym itself, I could feel it had started so had to change with my back to the wall, then last lesson my friends and I had been separated so I I had to wait until after school to tell them it had happened. It was the same day that my 21 year old male cousin moved out of our house after living with us for a year so it was a simple case of going in and ordering my mother to buy me my own tampons while I popped upstairs to use one of hers.

Mine started when I was 11, but nowadays I only get them every3 months roof I have a big change in routine. My mum said don't complain, and I hate it, so less is better if you ask me,

I was 14. If I remember correctly, it was Saturday, February 8th, 1997.
