The oddest items in wallet/purse are 2 sets of earplugs, latex gloves, and an ounce of silver with a quote inscribed on it. That's what I call my "real money".

I don't always carry a purse either. It gets a little heavy. And if I'm going somewhere like musical event, I don't want to have to keep up with it. I'd rather be able to go dance and not worry about having it disappear. That's why I put "pockets" it the thread title.

But the last concert I went to, I really wished I'd brought my purse, because I got to meet the band afterwards :D and I didn't get one guy's autograph because I didn't have a pen and was too embarrassed to ask if he had one, and I didn't get any photos because my camera was too big to fit in my pocket.

A yellow, smiley-face ("Have a nice day") yo-yo. Belongs to my kids.

A brassiere (different cut than the one I'm wearing, in case I wanted to change it mid-day).

Wow some of the stuff you gals posted wouldn't fit into a airplane carry-on bag. :D

I used to carry all sorts of crap in my bag, until I got the habit of switching bags every week. Now junks don't accumulate too much. I'm glad of that change. I used to find coupons that expired the year before and some old fast food in my bags. :o At the moment the unusual things in my bag are:

- pair of knee high socks. I wear skirts all the time and put these on when I go into buildings with cold air.
- huge titanium hair pin for putting my long hair up in a pinch
- plastic grocery bag. Nearly all stores here ask customers to bring reusable bags. Some places don't sell any plastic bags at all and you have to carry things in your arms if you didn't bring bags.
- purse hanger, it's pretty and stuff but i never used it.
- mini-first-aid kit, maybe this one isn't weird?
- detangling comb made of yak's horn, never used either.
- Swiss army knife. This one shouldn't be weird, but nearly nobody I know seem to carry pocket knives with them.

Ping pong balls. Took them away from a friend's kids who were throwing them in the house.

Grown kids.

You'd think they'd outgrow that, wouldn't you?

A hand held pleated fan
chapstick
a couple Ricola throat lozenges
an ink pen
foam earplugs in a little plastic container
chewing gum
cell phone
a bottle of hand sanitizer
a business card from my chiropractor

(Nothing really weird right now, I guess. For a month or two I carried around a small plastic funnel.)

Napkins and a stress ball. And books I probably won't read again.

Okay, I need the stress ball. I've only had it a short time.

These are 20 and 24. When I took one away from them they started pelting me with them. So I grabbed them all and put them in my purse. They were sober too, this was just regular antics for them.

Taco Bell fire sauce, pencils, and a calculator. I guess I should throw the Taco Bell fire sauce away. It has graphite all over it and looks pretty nasty.

First aid kit
A multitude of medications "just in case"
Glasses cleaning cloth
Bach's Rescue Remedy spray
3 novelty pens
Mechanical pencil
Red sharpie
2 notebooks
Index cards
Lip balm
2 multi-tip screwdrivers
A small stuffed owl
Asthma puffer in a crocheted case
2 flashlights
A koosh ball
Ear plugs
Pocket survival guide
Paracord bracelet
Small knife
Wet naps and mints from restaurants
A compass
A thermometer
A whistle
A can opener
My huge wallet crammed full of cards and receipts
Ipod Touch
Cell phone

Not all of it is strange, but I seem to have everything I'll ever need in any situation. I like to be prepared.

Oh gosh, I haven't looked in my bag for a week. Strange since I can't seem to live without that bag, but I do put a lot of things in here.

*My wallet
*My art portfolio (A small one. I keep bigger portfolios at home.)
*Expensive pens and pencils
*My Nintendo DS (So THAT'S where it was. I was looking for that.)
*Gum
*Green tea flavored mints
*My address book
*A really flashy sequin jacket (Wore it to a Rocky Horror Picture Show party at a friend's house.)
*Knee-high leather boots (Also wore at said party.)
*A fancy fedora that once belonged to my dad (That I believe should have a feather or two attatched to it. Was also worn to said party.)
*And finally, my watch. (Which I also can't live without.)

I carry no purse or other such, and normally my pockets are empty.

Epi-pen and a buck-eye,I'll need both if I get stung by a yellow jacket, and a cork-screw to open a bottle of wine to celebrate surviving the wasp sting.

I keep food in my purse because I might be stuck in the back of my sister's car again. I also have 2 umbrellas, gum wrappers, pens, a book of matches (just 'cause), a crochet needle, 2 pairs of sunglasses, tissues, Midol, car air freshener (think scented, tiny tree shaped things on string), my handkerchief, my wallet, my wall jack for my phone (it's an iPhone), and receipts that I'm holding onto for no reason.
