I have read about the Myer Briggs personality types and found it fascinating!

I came out INTJ, I was wondering if it is the same with other females with Aspergers?

Also what personality is compatible with INTJ, personally I couldn't see myself with an E, he would drain me surely?

What jobs are good for an INTJ female?

Would appreciate learning more about Myer Briggs.

Thanks! :D

My sister brought home copies of this test from her textbook, she is a medical doctor as well as a psychiatrist. I got INFJ The Protector but I know I was a Thinker INTP 2 years before when I first took this type of test in my psychology class in college.

The beauty of taking these types of tests is that you can see that as humans we are always evolving, personally. I can see how I have changed for the better and I can see what I can improve on.

A Thinker is about like The Scientist, INTJ. But Scientists cling to logic and reason more than the Thinker, in fact, no other personality clings to logic more than the Scientist. :)

With that said, as the name implies those with the Scientist personality will excel the most in math and science fields. As well as the medical and technological fields. A pretty wide range of careers to choose from if you just think about all the possibilities.

When I was 16 I was given the test and was the only intj in my class. Then was given test again by my university when I was 21. Same score!

Some have described the test as not evidence based after looking at the literature the test is based on

Regardless the intj category is the most detailed and seemingly accurate. Only met other intj folks on research social sites and at my university....mainly researchers that are working in academia. We even like the same things, get each other's humor and how we analyse things.

The scientist is a good title for the type, however those of us that are very literal in speech and interpretation of social info can experience challenges. Fortunately the academic work environment can be near perfect because there are so many intj people there in my university in certain disciplines.

Some days the N is an S, but just barely. It depends on how philosophical I feel while answering the questions.

^Yep, same here.
I've tested as INTJ and as ISTJ.

I don't take the whole thing that seriously.
It's just one of many ways to classify and label complex & variable humans who don't stick that close to some simplified description.
FWIW, it's a handy shorthand.
If it helps to ease/smooth/encourage interaction between people, then all the better. It's no worse than astrology, right ?

Judging by other threads, INTJ & INTP are the most common personality types among people on this forum, followed by INFJ, INFP & ISTJ.

My girlfriend is a ESFJ. She could not be more different from me in many ways, but I appreciate the complimentary nature of our different personalities very much!

You might want to check out this page for that.

This 3,5 minute video offers a very concise but accurate description of the 4 different criteria in Myers-Briggs.

For a more detailed look into the 16 different personality types, I recommend 16personalities.com.

Not INTJ but I'm INTP/xNTP (one letter and a whole bunch of functions away) enneagram 9w1. My te/extroverted thinking is pretty cruddy, but I'm good with ti/introverted thinking.

For the majority of my typology journey, I identified as INFJ and tested as one, both INTP and INFJ having ti and fe, but I am kind of sucky with my fe. Having ASD, I find that I am not the easiest person in the world to type and have a blurry f vs. t preference.

INFJ is the rarest type and easy to mistype as, so I think that I'm just a feminine/fe influenced xNTP.

Wow, I thought a lot of people with Asperger's might be INTJ or INTP, but it seems like almost everyone is! I have Asperger's, but I think I'm INFP. I mean, that's what the test told me, and after looking up all sixteen personality types, it seemed to be the only one that fit entirely (A few INFJ traits seemed to fit as well.) I actually care a lot about feelings, both other people's and my own. I feel really bad when I hurt other people's feelings due to my lack of social understanding, or when people make fun of me for that or my unusual sensitivity to sound and certain types of clothing (touch). Also, while I may want more alone time than an average female my age, I still do want friends, and get quite depressed if I find myself without any. This has motivated me to put more effort into learning social skills, but also allows me to become depressed more easily, as I feel I am not good enough the way I am, and need to change in order to fit in.

Sorry, I'm not sure why I started this rant after posting my personality type. I guess I'm just worried I don't fit in with neurotypicals OR other aspies. Anyone else feel this way?

INFP.

I'm grateful and fascinated to see we are an anecdotal minority here. And I, too, wonder if this accounts for ways that I have felt like I both fit and don't fit in the autistic definition. WHOperhero, thank you for helping me feel like I fit in here a little.

Also, for the relationship compatibility question. I would peg my partner for an ISTP. We like to be introverted and to perceive together (I--P in common) and probably all of our conflict comes from having the other letters different (-N/S T/P - different)- though I very much appreciate the diversity. "Remember the umbrella!" "Oh, yes, the umbrella!" And I can always depend on my partner to tell me honestly what he thinks of me.

I also relate to not being the easiest person in the world to type. Probably INFP-types aren't supposed to study math 8O or spend hours analyzing situations in their lives, but maybe my personality is still, true-to-type, happiest in more creative environments and a "free spirit" at heart. I also resonated with the qualities of INFJ.

Anyway, Myers-Briggs is not the ultimate authority on who does and does not exist on our planet.

I took the test when I did a career evaluation last year and I'm an INTJ.

I generally come out as an INFJ and a 4 on enneagram personality tests.

I don’t firmly fit into one category. I score as very strongly I and J (usually as strongly introverted as it’s possible to score  ), but am near the margin on S/N and F/T, and can come out on either side of both depending on my mood when I take the test. So I guess I’m some sort of combination of INTJ, INFJ, ISTJ, and ISFJ.
