Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a particular professional to go to to get an Aspergers diagnosis in or near Oxford, UK? I am an adult female and I'm worried to be told there's nothing wrong with me if the professional doesn't have much experience of female AS.

Many thanks!

Hello
Even if you are told you are autistic there is still nothing wrong with you!

Have a look here:

Don't be afraid to grill people a bit before making an appointment. You are paying so ask them questions about their knowledge of autism in women. And good luck!

Hi there

I contacted Sally Powis here: http://spectrumspecialists.co.uk/

Autism Oxford is a charity who can provide some advice (they recommended Sally Powis to me) http://www.autismoxford.org.uk/

I haven't seen Sally yet so can not offer a personal opinion but her credentials are impressive.

Didn't you post about this recently? Was the information you were given before of no help?

It's just that I work with people on the spectrum in Oxford and might be able to provide some names - but not here, preferably via a pm.
