What is fluoxetine for? I don't recognize the name. There are meds though that can influence your period either making heavier or lighter.

Fluoxetine -> Prozac. I think I read about periods and side effects. I do have a light period. Maybe it makes me have no period at all. (Not good I think.)

PS: I just read that fluoxetine can cause a menstruation stop.

Calico someone told me to be careful of wearing tampons when barely bleeding heavy because she got toxic shock syndrome that way. I never quite understood what it was but she was very ill with it. Also been told not to wear the same tampon more that 4 hrs. Anyway if you're bleeding just lightly I think you are suppose to wear only pads.

I heard about that.

This period booklet I read said you shouldn't wear tampons at these stages, that's why I don't.

My period is happening now and I'm on the third day. Tomorrow it will be fairly light. The first three days the flow is heavy. My period lasts for about 5 days.

Never heard about Prozac interfering with periods, that's interesting.

Mine used to be VERY heavy, i'd only bleed for a day or two and that was it, but it has settled down since, still heavy for the first day, then really light, but at least now it's spread out over a couple of days.

If I have them, it's heavy for the first 3 or 4 days and very light by the 7th day.

Wear pull ups for your heavy periods.

Heavy the first two days, moderate the third and fourth. I generally have my period for four or five days, down from six when I first started.

Mine too! I just got mine today (spotting) for the first time in over a year. Honestly, I could care less that I don't get it, but my OB wants me to start taking birth control to help regulate my hormones. That means clearer skin, but my periods will make a return! Bleh!
