Well, this sort of applies for both men and women, but I wanted to know, because it seems like people think of those two characteristics as antagonic, so...

People can be..

I mean nerds don't have ugly bone structure or anything, a lot of them just don't care about their apperance. Anyone can be hot if they want to be.

Of course women can be nerdy and attractive at the same time.
That's an attraction in itself.

A woman's physical appearance is the picture frame around the mind, heart, and spirit, Nerdiness is not automatically appealing, but it definitely can be depending on how it's done. A mind can shine like a star in the night sky, equally wild and beautiful.

Depends who's looking. I'd take geekiness/nerdiness over annoying princess attitudes anyday.

Ofcourse nerdy females can be attractive. There's even a "look" based on the hot nerd chick stereotype that various movies have created over the years (like Velma in Scooby Doo 2002).
There's no rule requiring nerds to be ugly, just indifferent to fashion.

There's quite a bit of individual variation in what's attractive. I've experienced many times that when I find a woman attractive and mention it to another guy, they can't understand the appeal at all, and I usually have the same reaction when other guys find a woman attractive.

For me, anything that looks fake has the same appeal as a plastic flower. Technical perfection in conformity to some ideal is not beauty. Real flowers are all different from each other.

I must be the wierd one here, because there's several multi-billion dollar industries saying the opposite, cosmetics, mainstream porn, women's magazines.

The I Ching says that all things reveal their nature by the things they're attracted to. I better shut up, MrMark's coming with a shotgun saying that I'm trespassing on his territory.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I think some men long to find a "hidden gem".

I think it depends on the degree of "nerdiness"...sometimes I think "nerdiness" can be viewed as threatening by some men...no matter how nicely the package may be wrapped...

Nope.

There's a multi-billion dollar industry because people want to be told what to wear.

If you don't look like a model, then you won't attract guys how are solely focused on woman who look like models.

But if you dress in rags, you'll tend to attract guys who are attracted to that.

It's important to keep in mind who you want, but also remember to wear something that you like.

Damn straight they can be attractive.

They're also much more likely to be people worth spending time around. Not too many of those.

I have been told I was nerdy yet attractive a couple of times before, the attractive part I have a hard time convincing myself of that possibility.

Most of the men I run across don't seem to like women who know how to think. Most of them seem to like bimbos who only know how to toss their hair around and look cute.
