You do have to look really hard to find them, but they're out there.

I'd have to say no, but then I am one and so is my best friend who is also aspie.

My opinion might be a little biased

Aspie women are a dime a dozen. There are as many AS women in our local support group as men. Also where I work there are 4 AS men and 3 AS women (including myself), so I don't feel we are really that rare.

I'm an aspie girl, but for some reason I feel as if I might get along better with NT guys.

Same here. I get along better with NT people. They are such a weird puzzle it makes them interesting.

I think there are probably quite a lot of undiagnosed Aspie girls around. Unless our AS is particularly obvious, we are often missed. One of my shrinks even thought that girls couldn't get AS! (Idiot...) I guess that we are quite special and a rarety!

I like pie...

I can spot them, i am just not always able to talk to them.

We have a crazy aspie lady helping out at our venue right now...she is the sort who does not stop talking and can make sorta loud tactless observations about other people....unaware or oblivious that they are in earshot of her....but she is neet....instead of the avoidance of eye contact, she is more of the wide eyed starer....and keeps forcing me to make eye contact with her....she wears me out a little bit.

and then there is this really really tall teenaged aspie girl who works at the shop i sorta live above. I still have not been able to talk to her very much. She is reel purdy like a tall skinny elf...kinda like a blonde version of heather from AMT...but way more intrverted....

How did you find a AS support group? I found a MeetUp group for my area. That's mostly mothers who have children with AS.

Why are they such a weird puzzle when compared to AS people?

They're a puzzle because its difficult to figure out how they pick up facial expression cues and know what to do and know how to do eye contact right. AS people on the other hand, especially the guys, are predictable and boring. All you learn from hanging out with AS guys is what NOT to do in social situations and all the ones I have ever met were mean, rude and boring, boring, boring. I mean they don't do anything, but hideout at home.

I think this may be like the 50th time I have explained on here, don't presume what a group is before you go check it out. I went to the local chapter of the ASA and met other AS adults through that. The AS adults do belong to that group...its not just for parents of children!! !! And many times half the parents of the ASD kids will be Aspies themselves. All you have to do is Google Aspergers + your city or state and find groups. Or go to the ASA website & check for local chapters. Even still its no big deal. I found I didn't fit in with most of the Aspies and they never wanted to do anything fun anyway. So I quit going. The Meetup groups are not professionally run and have no budget. They also tend to be entirely self diagnosed and there is never any chance of guest speakers, etc.
