I don't wear makeup because an hour after applying the horrid stuff my face starts to itch. Then it takes 3-5 days to recover from having a dry itchy face.

I don't understand make up really. The only times I could remember wearing it was last christmas at a party (because it was new and I wanted to know what it was like) and then this year at a halloween party (where I dressed up as a cat, and used eyeliner to make it look like I had cat eyes).

Really, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm happier in my own skin, not something that is fake.

If females want to wear make up that's fine, but being honest I would rather see natural with no make up at all.

Unless it's Halloween I simply don't understand the point of it.

I love make-up! Brightly colored eyeshadows are my crack! I love to draw and paint, so for me it's like painting on a live campus.

However, I cannot stand those pore strips that you rip off your nose or nail polish.

I didn't use it til I was nearly 18. Now I can't live without it cos my skin is quite bad and I feel much more confident and pretty wearing it. However it is just some eyeliner for smoky eye effect and skin tone even-ing foundation, not full-on slap cos I feel I look like a prostitute and really don't want that! Wore lip gloss for a while but it frustrated me cos it came off

I occasionally wear makeup, but usually not the conventional stuff, I like to draw symbols on my face with eyeliner. I only do that if I'm going to a concert or nightclub though, as I hate the feeling that I'm not myself without makeup.

Used to wear it as a young teen, but the fact that I can't rub my eyes if I get something in em without taking it off, and cleaning it off every evening, became extremely annoying.

Same here. I wear full-on makeup, including foundation, every day. But again, I'm not a very sensitive Aspie as most of the people here are, and I love the feeling of looking prettier. Sometimes I go with a more natural look, but I like looking different every day, and makeup lets me do that.

It's one of the many things I'm allergic to, so no I don't wear makeup.

intersting - I have the exact same problem, dont really like it, usually forget Im wearing it and rub my eyes ! very rarely try it now as it usually makes my eyes sore when i use cleaner to try to quit the make up.
maybe this is an aspie/autie thing. have always been the same - when my older sister tried to teach me about wearing mascarsa i put it on and then tried to close my eyes really firmly - you know like the lipstick thing, to speard it on the other lips. my sister was rolling about on the floor as needless to say it doesn´t work with eyelashes and you just end up with smudged mascara round your eyes. i gave up.

I wear tiny dabs of concealer to disguise pimples - but I don't even like that. I spend a fair amount of money on facials and skincare to minimise how much concealer I use. One pencil-sized tube usually lasts me about six months or so.

The idea of wearing foundation, however, makes my skin crawl and I actually feel a bit greasy even thinking about it. I have on very rare occasions worn a teeny bit of mascara on the (blonde) tips of my eyelashes, but lately I've started having them dyed when I have my facials, so I don't have to even think about that.

Years ago, before I moved to Australia, I was butt-white year-round but in the winters in particular I was so pale I looked green and sickly. I used to rub the tiniest dab of blush on my cheeks when I looked really crap. That didn't bother me because it didn't cover my skin like foundation would.

The feeling that I get when I think about make-up is similar to that when I think about wearing tight clothes. Claustrophobic? It's like being trapped in a tight, hot shell.
