Yeah, but I need to learn apply properly because it doesn't always look perfect.

I only wear it for special occasions and to work sometimes. I wear mineral powder only and never any liquids.

I hate wearing makeup. Just hate it. It feels nasty on my face and irritates my eyes. Wearing makeup is one of the bad things of being a woman. I think most women lie to themselves about not wearing makeup to please others. Makeup feels really gross on the skin. How could anyone ignore the nasty feeling?

Whenever I wear makeup I can’t wait to take it off. Society forces women to do oppressive things like wear makeup, wear stupid high heel shoes that hurt your feet, and wear stinky perfumes. All of this is a sensory nightmare to me.

I will admit that I wear makeup to please others, to fit in, and meet societal expectations. I have been forced into wearing it even though I rarely wear it. Many of the female fashions are uncomfortable and even hazardous to our health but we must pretend (or convince ourselves) to like them.

I dont understand high heels and I dont believe the women who say they enjoy wearing them for their own selves or that it is empowering. Same with low cut dresses where u are always feeling exposed and gross.

It’s definitely only for how they appear to others and to make others accept them more easily..

Esp if they are talking about those christian whatever ones with the red heels to replicate parisian prostitutes... I forget the designer name but they are v v expensive and highly sought After.
That designer actually said in an interview that he purposely makes his shoes painful because he wants only the customers who suffer through it to wear them... because it shows loyalty or something.
I read that in an interview of him where he said he challenges himself to make his shoes more painful because beauty is pain and that he designs rhe most painful ones for Dita von teese....

Wearing heels draws attention, particularly on linoleum floors with the distinctive sound they make.
If you are the boss or someone important that can announce your arrival.

That is similar to men’s shoes where the back has the slightest heel ..
The ridiculousness of women’s heels is incomparable though

That weirdo tom ford who I believe is very smart but I dislike him and all his things...he said that the purpose for heels was to make women walk like female baboons when they want to mate. That sounds so gross. Why not just paint the seat of our trousers pink too while they are at it

I have balance issues and have never been able to walk in heels. Consequently, I don't wear them. Neither do I conform to societal norms. I am me, take me as you find me or leave me. I don't care either way.

Wikipedia has this to say about Tom Ford:
Quote:
Ford has been criticized for using naked women in various ad campaigns. Various journalists asserted that the ads were vulgar, sexist, or objectified women. One ad featured a nude woman holding a bottle of the perfume between her legs. Another featured a naked woman ironing a man's pants while he read a newspaper. A separate ad was banned in Italy.

Responding to criticism that he objectified women, Ford stated he is an "equal opportunity objectifier" and is "just as happy to objectify men". He argued "you can't show male nudity in our culture in the way you can show female nudity" and pointed out that he did a male nude ad while at Yves Saint Laurent which got pulled.

In 2014, Ford released a new product, called the "Penis Pendant Necklace". The product caused some controversy, with Christians calling it offensive due to the pendant being shaped similar to a Christian cross or crucifix. Ford replied that "it was not meant to be a cross, it was a phallus" and "people read into things what they want to".

This is another quick 2 cents' worth from me, and then I'll leave this topic alone...

He is just a very wealthy and very intelligent and adept businessman who happens to be a jerk. I get bad vibes from him and that’s all I need... objectification is bad in my worldview so I feel bad for the ...brainwashed by money and fashion world... models being put in dehumanizing positions for the sake of a stupid ad whch can be done in zillions of other ways...but if it is a good thing in his world view then good on him for carrying on the torch of perversion while getting richer. Ive read enough from ex models about the horror that goes on esp with young girls and dehumanizing situations they are subjected to to feel intense distaste for his opinion

Aesthetic Sophistication is a matter of perspective from what one has been exposed to. when ads and media splash it out for decades and decades and models and actresses wear the stuff, ppl are obviously influenced and associate it with fictional sophistication. Same case with cigarettes before

Cole Haan makes stilettos that are reasonably comfortable for wearing all day.

Cole Haan stuff is nice ...the men’s shoes too. My mom likes heels like that. I remembered the guy I was thinking of from his interview, was Louboutin...his stuff could easily be adapted to be less torturous but he intentionally keeps them painful. These guys are so open about why they do things a certain way, too, and people still buy into it.

When I got married my parents bought me so many high heels. My mother in law would make me wear them to events, the really high ones...

even though the majority of my outfits covered my feet, and they made me taller than her son.

Even at an event when I was pregnant and entering third trimester. Why wear such high heels when you are pregnant?

She even made me wear one of my wedding dresses for that day ....
despite being pregnant...
it hurt so much as it was so tight ..it was so hard to get on and she still insisted..

the metal embroidery was digging into my skin, and half my tummy Was exposed so I had to pin my scarf a certain way to hide it, like a sari...I had to flatten my chest too, to get it on, by wrapping something round.

And nobody could see the heels so.., what was the point? It wasn’t even that she wanted me to look taller as she would tell me to sit or crouch lower for photos, so her son was taller than me.

I guess it’s for that state of mind feeling ...but then why project your own inane slave to fashion mindset onto someone else...

When I wear makeup people say things like "Do you feel ok? You look tired."
When I wear heals I f*** up the floor, or the shoe ...or both.

Whatever benefits they are purported to convey, I don't have the skill needed to access those benefits using these tools.

That's okay though, since I like the way I look without them.

That's true. Using makeup and wearing high heels to best effect does require practice.
