it has a lot of vitamin c, so it's good all over

Not what I was thinking of, but yeah, good point. Trying to find the source that told me what it was good for.

Crannberrie is good for treating and proventing bladder infections. If you feel one coming on you drink lots of the juice to help clear it up or manage it unitl you can get to the doctor.

It's also apparently great for your kidneys. I adore cranberry juice, and it's great for you.

Eat lots of veg and fibre, and water. And I totally second (or third!) the suggestion to see an OBGYN or doctor every year. And the HPV vaccine!

A note on the vaccine - there are many, many strains of HPV, some of which are dangerous and some which our bodies naturally fight off and have no effect. The vaccine protects us against some of the worst ones, but not all of them. Regardless of whether you have one strain of HPV, it's a great idea to get the vaccine anyway!

True. Also, and some people don't seem to realize this...you don't have to have slept around to get HPV. You just have to have had sex, and if you've only ever had sex with one guy, you still might have caught it from him. Most women have one strain or another at some time in their lives...with the exception of nuns.

My top tip: Get to know your normal cycles - how long and heavy your periods are, changes in mucus mid-cycle when you ovulate, how you feel pre-menstrually, all that stuff. That way, you're better primed to be alert for anything unusual down there that could need checking out. Also, having some idea of when you're fertile is obviously helpful if and when you want to get pregnant. (I don't, for one, believe it's a great method of contraception, but others may disagree.)

Other than that, obvious stuff: move in a way you enjoy, stay hydrated, eat some of those green things that grow in the ground, get your Paps, check your boobs, keep an eye on any moles, and be highly sceptical of health statistics, especially if whoever came up with them is trying to sell you something. Oh, and before you consider going on a weight loss diet, Google 'Health At Every Size' and prepare to have your eyes opened. Is all.

Not that the shot would necessarily help with it, but plantars warts are caused by HPV in the foot, so yes, nuns can get HPV without having sex. Had plantar's warts, not fun.

 Sorry...forgot about regular old verrucae. Don't think those are the risky strains, though. Yeah, I remember having one of those and getting the doc to remove it...ouch.

Strangely, I managed to get mine to respond to a homebrew freezing treatment using salt and ice, and it hasnt been back since.

Banna peals under a bandaid are a good way to get rid of warts as well. It takes a few days but it's a risk free way that doesn't burn, freeze or break the skin. Also the banna is darn good for you to eat. :)
