1. I'd love to be a writer or a poet, but to do that I'd need enough courage to send my work out and face all the rejection. I'm not there yet.
2. I'd love to work for a video game company, helping to develop storyline. Writing again!
3. Teacher. I've discovered however, that to teach you need to navigate the faculty politics and I'll never be able to do that. Proven that sufficiently. Currently I tutor. I work alone, with a small group of students. I communicate with my superior mostly by e-mail, with occasional phone calls. This works for me, but the hours are limited, so I don't bring in much income.
4. Apsie advocate. I'd love to lead seminars for teachers, parents, employers, and others on what it is like to have Asperger's Syndrome. I'd make them all read House Rules by Jodi Picoult. (Obviously, her character of Jacob is just one Aspie, but I think she did a great job, and her advisor on the book was a teenage girl with AS.) I'd like to help people understand what Asperger's Syndrome is and encourage respect and understanding of the Aspie in general, and any one Aspie in particular.
5. In my wildest dreams, I'm a ROCK STAR! And I'd still be an Aspie advocate, as I'd be open about having AS and what it's like for me. I would use my stardom to create a venue for Autism education that is unlike Autsim Speaks. I'd call my group "Fine the Way I Am" and donate to groups, organizations, or schools that exist to support and help people on the spectrum, rather than to groups looking for a cure. I'd create a board of directors that had people on the ASD spectrum on it as well as some NTs who know what they are talking about (they exist; I've met some). However, since I am in my mid-thirties and have no band, this is not going to happen.
I have another dream that I think has a chance for success...but I don't want to jinx it by sharing it.
