Yeah, my mom spends the day griping about how no one treats her special no matter what we try to do for her. She's abusive, manipulative and just plain old mental. I want to hear people's stories about their loving moms. I am too jealous. I don't want judgement from people who don't understand why I don't treat my mother like a queen on Mother's day.

I don't want children, so there will be no Mother's day cards for me in the future, only awkwardness from the people who assume everyone has children. (Around here, most people do)

I enjoy it because in our house, it's "my day" and my husband spoils me. I only get Facebook messages and texts, which are easy to "like" and respond, "Thank you!" to, so I don't deal with any phone calls. The only phone call I make is to my Mom. I figure my grandmothers are covered by my parents.

metaldanielle You are so young and beautiful , I know you have been jaded about having children but I wish you would reconsider. I have only one daughter but she and my grandson are the love of my life. You can and will make a much better mother than you had and they bring you so much happiness and that is one thing we never had. Don't let her ruin your life any more than she has. If not a baby get a great pet, next best thing. They will love you unconditionally and that is definitely something we never had. Good luck and on Mothers day do something great just for you, it is a celebration that you survived this person called mom.
