So long as your hygiene is okay and you are dressed presentably, I wouldn't worry too much. If you hadn't showered in a week, then I'd start worrying. ;)

I would say I have pretty good hygiene habits...I shower everyday, brush my teeth, shave, and wear deodorant. Other than that, I have no desire to do feminine things.

I think it's worse maybe when other women say it to me, I get that a lot "you'd be so pretty if you wore make up, wore this or that" - really floors me when it happens because it implies that I'm not pretty without it.

But, there are plenty of women and men that don't give a toss about you wearing make-up, even prefre you without out - I seek people like that out, it means they have similar values to me - I tolerate the rest.

Yeah, people tell me the exact same thing, too!! I'm not quite sure what to do about it! :x

I foyu don't use any make up don't start. I have had a partner for more than 3 years and I never wear makeup because I don#t like it.

The women in my support group nag me about this all the time. Apparently, I won't get a good man unless I "take better care of myself". Why should I try to 'impress' someone I haven't even met yet? Plus, women who wear makeup and the latest styles get screwed over by men too. So why is it relevant?

I'm happy with how I look. The man in my life would have to love and accept me as I am, or he can't be in my life.

Oh my, I feel for you. For the last 6 months I have had a NEIGHBOR say this to me. He's a nice older man. We normally get along great. He is my husband's friend. His wife and I get along great. BTW, his wife is kind of like me. Anyway, it has freaking worn me out. I dress nice when I want. I live in a beach condo. We have no central air. I clean every day, I homeschool too. The last thing I want to do is "put make up on and wear cute clothes" while I am cleaning in 90F weather with almot 80% humidity and no central AC! lol But he gets offended when I say anything. Right now he's not talking much to me as he thinks he is "doing it to help me" and I think "mind your own freaking business by now..." By the way, my DH does like me to dress up...but he understands that I do when we go out, ie. dancing, a party, a cruise, etc...but just not at home...at least not all the time. I am really tired of it...to the point that I have completely shut my doors, curtains, etc...because I can't deal with the constant harrassment...

PS - what brings me peace? A male friend, who I suspect was an ASPIE, whom I think was my soulmate, that said to me "why are your nails long? they should be long because YOU want them long, not because someone else wants them long".

If you are 24, I think he is trying to tell you to stop playing around and get serious with this guy. He is probably one of those that wants to see people paired up and not wasting time. The older you get the more obvious and annoying they are especially in a close-nit congregation.
