I use depo provera. It works well for me in particular because my lyme disease mimics MS. Pregnancy helps reduce MS symptoms. Depo mimics pregnancy. I haven't had a period since 2002. The strange thing is that when I'm due for my shot, my lyme symptoms get worse until the day I get my shot.

I've been having PMS for what feels like a really long time, and today I finally got my period. That explains why I've been so inexplicably tired and sad lately.

I always get really irritable or depressed before I get my period. I get cramps on occasion that can be very painful. I also get shaky legs during the first day or two of my period. I'm glad that I only get periods every 6 or 7 weeks rather than every 4.

I am going to try and keep a diary to try and find out exactly how mine affects me because I know it does. I'm not usually very good at diaries though so this could be short lived!

Mine started a few days ago and I was cramping so bad I felt like I was constipated. Plus it was real heavy too. I bled through tampons and even though it wasn't all bloody, I think my vagina is a little stretched out from giving birth through there so tampons might not work on me as well. So I used soft cups and I felt uncomfortable down there it felt like the way it did when I gave birth. So I took it out and used a tampon instead hoping to get rid of the feeling but it didn't. Now my period is lighter and the cramps are gone and I feel normal down there again. Two days ago I somehow bled around the soft cup and it leaked into my panties so I had to wear an adult pull up for extra protection since I had no pads. I think I ran out or I don't know what I did with them. I am not leaking around my soft cup either now. It seems like when i go for my walks, I start to leak.

Periods: a good reason to not like being a woman. I'm at the beginning of mine right now (i.e. when I have the heaviest flow and the worst cramps). I want to have kids someday, but I HATE getting my period!

The week before it starts, I have ridiculous mood swings, my face breaks out (leading me to go CRAZY with picking at it), and I can't eat too much chocolate because it makes my boobs sore (a weird trait that occurs in all the woman on my mom's side of the family). Then, when it finally DOES arrive, I spend the first three or so days downing Advil every few hours and feeling like I've wet my pants. I've been getting my period for 8 years now, and I still haven't gotten used to the sensory ickiness of it. And sometimes, they last for over a week!

Man oh man. Periods are my number 1 hate about being female. That and pregnancy (tiny human growing in me?! Do not want!). I look forward to the day I can finally afford a hysterectomy like NT women look forward to their weddings, lol.

I have found that but also in general it seems to have been getting worse over the last year or so. Although personally I find it quite difficult to know if it is purely PMS or how much other factors are affecting me.

My period used to be 8 days. I then started birth control and magically it decreased to 4. I was / and am, one happy camper! I get really moody and teary-eyed very easily. Plus I get really hungry and eat anything that's lying around, but mostly junk food. LOL. Is the eating part a problem for anyone else? I highly recommend BC, not just for sex but for long periods.

Also, I have watched the show 16 and Pregnant. Has that turned any women off from wanting to get pregnant the first time? I'm 34 and it sure has done that to me! LOL I know it's aimed at teenagers and preventing teenage pregnancy, but it's preventing this Aspie as well.

Last month's period was the worst I've ever had. My moods were so out of control that I felt like I was losing my mind. I even experienced derealization. I think that the reason why it was so bad might have been because I was taking melatonin supplements at the time and I read that they can make depression worse in people who are prone to it.

This month was much better by comparison. I barely had any PMS symptoms at all aside from cramping. My breasts aren't sore like they usually are and my face didn't break out. My mood is much better than it usually is during this time of the month. My worst symptom this time is fatigue. I sleep from 10 to 12 hours every night but I'm always so tired that it feels like I barely got any sleep at all. I think the reason why I feel better this month is because I stopped taking melatonin and started taking vitamin B6 which is supposed to help with PMS symptoms and mood.

My last period was heavy again and I had no adult pull ups to wear because I had used them all last time. I used soft cups and they leak and I used tampons. I used toilet paper too to catch the drips. Luckily it wasn't as heavy as it was before.

I have PMDD and possible endometriosis . I have a history of uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts. The cysts always happen in the same ovary and I have yet another one. I have many irregular periods because of all this and this month I had 2. The cyst I have now is not cancerous according to my ultrasound but it has caused a lump on my skin where my ovary is. I get massive bloating and fullness from them.

I'm searching for new drs because they do not see this as an issue (I need an endo specialist)
I have had my period since the age of 10 and they are always very painful physically and emotionally. My heart skips beats just before my period as well.

This is the 5th cyst I have had on my right ovary and I have had about 3 uterine fibroids. I am terrified to have my period. BC is too harsh on me. All I do is bleed on it and get majorly depressed/anxious.

I just want it to end! I've had my freaking period for 20 years and its getting worse for crying out loud!

It does feel better to just get that out lol.

Oh and I get excruciating rectal pain while on my period (perhaps that info is tmi - sorry if it is)
