Questions for girls/women
I seem to get along with men and women equally. Though it's kind of funny, because over the years it has fluctuated. As a child I had almost exclusively female friends, as a teenager I had almost exclusively male friends, and as an adult I have a mixture of both for friends.
I have always done "my own thing". My overall behavior absolutely does not match up to that of a typical 21 year old - I am very childlike and naive. And I refuse to enjoy something just because it is popular. If I like something that is popular, there has to be something compelling about it that draws me into it.
My sense of humor does not match up to other people's. My sense of humor is very juvenile and revolves around puns, inside jokes, memes, non-requiters and toilet humor.
2. Were you in touch with the current fashions, movies, books, and other cultural aspects or did you "do your own thing?
3. Sense of humor: does yours pretty much match that of most people or do you find what others find funny lame or stupid or just not funny?
1) Males.
2) My own thing. When I was in school all the girls were listening to NKOTB and Bon Jovi. EVERYONE loved Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice. Me? I was listening to They Might Be Giants. Everyone is watching 90210? I watched Star Trek the Next Generation. They all go outside to play? Give me a good book and a helping heaping of solitude, thanks. I'm still the same.
3) My sense of humor meshes better with males.

Hmm I am not sure if you mean now, or growing up. It changed throughout my life. I will generalize the best that I can.
1. I would hang out with girls mostly, because it was easier to do be accepted in a clique and hang out with those in it, but I got along better with guys.
2. For the most part, I "did my own thing", but sometimes I would pick and choose the current media, fashion or cultural aspects that I liked, and would follow them with a moderate interest.
3. My sense of humour is different. I will laugh at things which people do not find funny, and fake a laugh for jokes which I do not find funny. I will usually laugh harder at funny circumstances rather than at jokes people will tell me.

1. Both, depending on how I felt at the time. I share more interests with guys, but when I've had too much male energy I need to bond with women. Currently, I'm feeling very emotionally drained by many of my female friendships; women have these hidden social rules that you have to follow or risk offending them, so I've been noticing that I'm able to relax and not worry about petty things around guys.
2. LOL no! I did and still do my own thing. If it happens to be popular at the time, cool, that means it'll be easier for me to find it!
3. My sense of humor is along the lines of Adventure Time, rage comics, and really bad puns. Most people seem to think this is juvenile and stupid. I dislike the type of humor that deals with humiliating real people. I don't get why it's funny to make someone feel bad. I would feel terrible if I shamed somebody like that.

I always got along better with guys, and still do. In middle school and most of high school, I had one best guy friend. We aren't close anymore, but I was able to relate to him better than to the girls. I had a couple girl friends but these never really went as deep. Guys in general just make more sense to me. It seems like they tend to say what's on their minds more than women do, and they don't get caught up in petty gossip as much as women. This isn't true for all guys, but it seems to be for the ones I've been friends with.
I too wore jeans and sneakers. This hasn't changed. When I was a little kid, I would only wear sweatshirts and sweatpants, usually matching sets, every day. I didn't own a pair of jeans until the fifth grade. Now jeans are all I wear, and I love Converse. Tee shirts are little bit harder, but they're usually just plain short sleeved ones.
My sense of humor is...well, I don't really know how to describe it. Crude, at times. But I get that my from dad I know what you mean by not finding what others are saying funny. I rarely find my friends' jokes funny - it's lame and immature.
My experiences with these questions are very similar to yours.
