My special interests have always revolved around fictional characters and doing crossovers of them. I'm currently working on a list of all the crossover ships (couples) I support. I'd like to create fanart and fanfiction of my ships and share it with others in the near future.

I enjoy reading but I wouldn't figure I have an "interest" in literature. I do love animals, it makes me sad that I'm currently living somewhere where I can't have one.

Interests....
psychology
pharmacology
dragons
stingrays
languages (german right now)
medical conditions

previously I was really into theology/mythology, music, horses, and pokemon

Costumes, history, historical costume, clothing in general. I got bullied and ostracized because of my interest in history and costumes. I dressed really oddly as a kid into my early teens and wouldn't play with others unless they played "history" or "opera" with me, because they all got mad at me when I couldn't keep up with their more athletic pursuits such as kickball, tag or riding bicycles.

Classic literature and poetry have been my longest standing interests. To a lesser degree these days, since I have two small kids to chase after.
I am currently more obsessed with anything related to homesteading, natural health, gardening, self-sufficient living, soap making, DIY... you get the idea. This has been going on for about 3 or 4 years now.
I also spent a couple of years on prostitution, especially the historical aspects.
As a teen, I was obsessed with anything involving Paganism, the paranormal, occult, etc. I am still interested in those things, but to a MUCH lesser degree.

I play Scrabble competitively. I'm quite obsessive about that.

One interest I'm not embarrassed about: I'm interested in modernism in music, art and architecture at the moment. I'm listening to a lot of classical music from the 1890s onwards, reading about 20th century art and art movements and I've thought about joining a modernist architecture appreciation society.

The one I am embarrassed about: I am always obsessed with some ancient rock star. It started with Morrissey when I was 14. I've since worked my way through Ray Davies, Pete Townshend, Lou Reed and it's currently John Cale and Pete Shelley. I think I might be Cynthia Plaster Caster's long lost cousin  I am so embarrassed by this it's actually painful for me to post it.

One I'm less embarrassed about: I do it with poets/ writers, too (just not as much as rock stars) I had a really big obsession with Samuel Taylor Coleridge at one point and Philip Larkin. I was also obsessed with Albert Camus, Oscar Wilde, George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. I have literally read everything by all of them. The Aldous Huxley one was fun because that's how I ended up taking mescaline - and I'm also generally obsessed with drugs (ones that aren't cannabis).

I am never obsessed with female writers or musicians and I don't know why that is. I mean, I like a lot of female musicians and writers (Nico was my most recent avatar on here), I just don't get obsessed with them. I have a theory that it's similar to the way some gay guys idolise actresses and divas. I don't fancy the male celebrities I get obsessed with, I just have a slightly weird gender identity.

General interests include: South American history, Japanese poetry and art, soul music, wine, whisky, the Renaissance, darts, Eurovision Song Contest, different cultures, otters, Pokemon, board games, the Finnish language...

I've been trying to learn Finnish for a couple of months now. It started as a bit of a compulsive activity.

I totally would've play history and opera with you. Might've had less of a lonely childhood if I went to school with you.

I do think I have any obsessive interests. Although lately I enjoy reading erotic literature.

But I bet I'm the only one on here

You´re not the only one. I love reading erotic fanfic and literature of couples that I ship from movies, books, TV-shows etc. Right now it´s only Erik/Christine from Phantom Of The Opera and I also read a book called "Return Of The Phantom" by Etienne De Mendes.

Mythology
Drawing
Fantasy (like D&D, forgotten realms more often)
^
.
.

Dragon Age Origins
Everquest 2
Dryads

They all sort of bleed into one another. For example I have digital paintings of my favorite character from Dragon Age Origins, sketches of dryads and elves, read fiction books about vampires and magic . . . etc etc etc.
Here are some cross-over examples

Dryad Maiden

Dryad is a bit of a general term now, but was mostly meant for Oak Tree dryads. There are a great different varities within Greek Mythology. Plus this is sort of how Dryads look in Eq2, expect they usually have their hair up with flowers and braids and I wanted free-flowing hair.

Titania

She is the queen of the fairies in Shakespeare's midsummer night's dream. Sort of made her look elf/sidhe-like.

Been pretty much obsessed with this stuff all my life. I get shorter-lived obsessions from time to time like right now I got a bit of a running obsession with the sung "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO.

I enjoy spending time with animals and I also enjoy literature, but I wouldn't consider them obsessions.
1. Vision and glasses. This has been my obsession since I was two. This obsession fluctuates and morphs a lot, but it still exists.
2. Music. Not really an obsession itself but my interest in music has started a lot of obsessions.
A) Nordic music, culture and languages. Right now I'm obsessed with Finnish folk music and learning Finnish, but this obsession will probably pass. I was obsessed with learning Icelandic for a bit. I still go back to that obsession once in a while.
B) The website last.fm
3. Watching documentaries about science and psychology.
4. Wanting to turn NT.

Why did you start to learn Finnish?

I think it was because I was trying to improve my French and I got sick of the structure of Romance languages. I just thought I'd learn the most different language I could without having to learn a new writing system. Finnish isn't even in the Indo-European family.

My interests change all the time but the ones that have stuck with me all my life are books, music and animals.

I became obsessed with surfing at one point although I wasn't very good at it and I definitely didn't fit in with the surfing community lol. It was fun to try something different though. I think that's how a lot of my obsessions start, I just like to try as many things as I possibly can. I went to the ballet the other simply because I've never been before. Other obsessions have been photography, Spain and the English language (I used to learn an obscure word very day).

My current obsession is les miserables. My father had a cassette of the show when I was little and I used to listen to over and over and act it all out as we didn't really have the money to go to the theatre. Now the film has come out the obsession has started up again and I've so far seen the film 6 times in the cinema and managed to finally see it in the theatre which was amazing.
