I am. I think it is under diagnosed in the black population.

I agree. I'm East African but both in America. I think my baby half brother might have it. That's what made me wonder more. I thought he was weird like me and got along really well with him. When he started school they thought he was mute and other things but he transferred and had started talking and doing his homework and was put on the deans list. We have childhood similarities I guess.

Therapy just isn't really considered for people in my country. We counsel each other, is the idea. I went outta my way to see a psychiatrist two years ago. I got diagnosed with ocd but didn't respons well to the medication and moved before I was supposed to take a comprehensive test or something.

Just wondering if there are any black women on the forum. I am black myself and wanted to know your experiences with aspergers. I suspect I may have it but it seems like not too many black people have it from research ive been doing. I would like to go in for a professional diagnosis eventually i was just wondering if cultural differences has an effect in how it may present itself in african americans.

I'm new and I'm black woman. I'm embarrassed to talk about my experiences with Asperger's since I was diagnosed very young. But I want to make sure that it's still AS before talking about my experience due to me having other diagnosis along with AS. I don't want to say much about it because it's rather embarrassing to talk about it since NT's who are the same race as me are very insensitive and inconsiderate.
