i hope you dont mind me asking...my daughter will be 9 this summer. she has AS and my husband, who is also AS have talked openly to her about her period, sex, etc... she has firmly decided she just isn't going to ever have a period...period.

any suggestions on making it easier for her when the time comes? the women in my family have all been young "blosomers". i was 9 and my sister was 10.

thanks

My mum bought me book after book on the anatomy of it all, and experiences of everyone... It was annoying, but I guess it helped in the end. Though I was a few years older at the time...

Ever listen to Bill Engvall?

"I'm looking for some little girl.... narrow.... pads."

"Are they for your daughter?"

"No honey, I'm just some sicko off the street with that kind of time on my hands! Yeah they're for my daughter."

15. On my birthday.

I've read that they start earlier in the new generation and what I read here seems to support that. In my generation 14 or 15 was pretty standard.

Damn, now I really feel old!

I was curious if there was an Aspie connection with late menses....I guess not. My period started at age 16 and was gone the same day. I didn't have another one until 18 and it lasted a day. Then I went to a gynecologist at 20, realizing this wasn't normal and started BC. I wasn't interested in dating until I was 20, so I thought it was no big deal.

Attention mothers: It is a big deal!! ! Please teach your girls about menstrual cycles even if they do not want to date. And please, don't let a girl go past 12 without having a period.
