Also, Fnord, you are being too sensitive.

(this was said to me earlier in this post, so it's okay to invalidate peoples' feeling by implying they have a character flaw! WHHEEEEEEE!)

That's an example of someone perceives something which is not misogynist as misogynist.

When I meet girls from elsewhere in Europe, particularly South, Central and Eastern. Its like magic, something about mindset, values, behaviour that just makes us click. They do not recognise me as "different" or lesser, I fit right in. And I appreciate these fine women greatly in their fine & strong characters. Nothing like the vapidness of british girls.
A little example for you is, that in Poland the standard greeting when meeting a woman is still kissing their hands!

Somewhere even MORE extreme in this front, is South Asia & Islamic countries. In these places it is the ideal for men to be virgins (just like the girls) till marriage. If you are a hotshot academic/bookworm who studies and doesn't go out, or have a career based in Science, Engineering or Medicine - you are completely typical of a desirable bachelor.

Girls will fall at your feet, and they will be pushed by their parents!

GIRLS WIL FALL AT YOUR FEET OR BE PUSHED BY THEIR PARENTS
?!?

You want girls who effectively can't say no? Who may well be with you because their parents told them to and have no agency? Who couldn't leave you if they WANTED to as they'd have nowhere to go, would face stigma for being divorced or separated?!?

How did you understand by this that he wants girls not able to say no??

He said "Girls will fall at your feet, and they will be pushed by their parents!".... it's AND, not OR! AND. But your misandrist brain will always want to make guys sound misogynists.

By "Girls will fall at your feet," it means the girls there will like a guy with those traits by their own will. It's a hyperbolic expression like "falling in love" , or "throwing themselves on him".

By "and they will be pushed by their parents!" it means the parents will encourage the girls to go for a such guy; nothing wrong in that if there's no enforcement.

Seriously...how did you compute this as "girls shouldn't be able to say no" ?

I can see both sides of this one. Based on the rest of the post, I don't think the poster had bad intentions. However, given that some women in the Middle East are forced into marriages, I can see why this choice of wording led to a miscommunication. If the poster had said "encouraged" rather than "pushed", his meaning would have been clearer.

WRONG. Men have full access to this subforum.

I know. That's why it will never be a Women's Group, no matter what you call it.

Lol you can never side with a guy, it might cause you a mental crackdown do you?

He obviously wasn't referring to the forced marriage cases, because one wouldn't "fall on someone's feet" (or whatever altetnative expression) who's she/he is forced to marry.

And he is right that Doctors and Engineers are seen as highly desirable suitors *by* many women (not just their parents) in those countries, some women would even actively pursue them, he was simply referring to a very common attitude there.

I feel women should have their privacy.

I have opinions about bras and such--but I keep them to myself, and don't enter into a thread which deals with womens' things. It's their own private domain, and should be respected as such.

I don't find that WP is rife with misogynists. You have the occasional bitter guy, and guys who sort of joke around about misogyny, making it into a sort of satirical thing.

In most cases, ignoring this stuff will make the stuff go away. This was my approach to verbal bullying--and it worked!

How would women go about getting their privacy?

This is the internet. Privacy really doesn't exist here.

Take note, WP women. If this post is okay, then it's okay to infantilize anyone with whom you disagree. You may now call men "boy" or "child" or "baby". It's not a personal attack, apparently.

He's 115, I'm sure anyone would be a child to him.

But in all seriousness, f**k this oversensitive nitpicking of words. Just because one (man? I mean really, Fnord could be a woman or robot or anything) says something, even if it was intentionally to infantilise, does not mean or at all justify calling on every single WP female to call every single WP man a baby. That is f*****g ridiculous. I'm not even sorry. It is. And as a female on WP, no, I will not take note to you. Who says you, a what, SJW, can give us orders? Who put you in charge?

It's a question of degree. WrongPlanet could create a better situation.

I'm not so sure they could. There is no way to tell what gender a user is really. And anyway I think it is a good thing men have access to this forum. A lot of men especially aspie men have no way to meaningfully communicate with women. So having access to this forum can give men a way to learn about aspects of women's lives that they may never have even thought to ask about.

That would be a forum more correctly named Men Eavesdropping On Women. Or maybe Women Guinea Pigs.

if anyone still wonders about the existance of the said female troll and man hater, here she is, as KumquatQueen, banned for the cca 49th time. Not by me this time though.

She'll probably respond to you by some other imaginative user name.

No, eavesdropping implies the person is being observed without their knowledge. That is not the case here. And no one is performing experiments so no one is a guinea pig. The term womens' forum refers to the content of the posts not who's posting them. Besides by the title of this thread it stands to reason that there are a lot of guys that would do well to better educate themselves about the issues women have to face.

Because some of the menfolk are being targeted by the troll, can the female members expect those being bullied to be sensitive and at times more reactionary?

Does viewing this trolling affect how the other uninvolved male members respond to posts?

Is this the behaviour that is being displayed; it seems misogynistic, but really it is rooted in defensive mechanisms?
