I think AS men aren't necessarily more likely to be misogynist, but they are more likely to succumb to 'red pill', manosphere BS which then leads to misogynist behaviour and perhaps internalising that behaviour to actually be misogynist. Why? Because while they want to get on with women (humans), they are struggling with social rules, social understanding, reading people, etc. It's easier to see 'women' as a mysterious other when you're struggling to understand people in general. They want these relationships but don't know how to get them.

They then stumble across the red pill, PUA, etc which purport to give RULES of behaviour that will bring 'success'. They give you scripts to follow, actions to follow and SAY that they give you ways of reading women's behaviour (s**t tests, etc). This must be a massive relief to people who suffer from social awkwardness and just want to know what to do. But, of course, these scripts don't actually work in terms of getting a happy, balanced relationship. When you treat women as objects to be manipulated you can't have a happy, balanced relationship. Someone else mentioned the cycle of bitterness...yes, I guess this can then contribute at that point, making a broader hatred of women. These rules further antagonise the sexes because they rely on BS faux-logical descriptions of the differences in the genders. Women do 'this' because of some BS evo-psych nonsense, men do 'that' because they were 'evolutionarily' designed to do so. It appeals to the aspie sense of logic, but it's logic based on little data and lots of false premises.

Add this to the general misanthropy (all humans, not just men) that some Aspies seem to have - or hatred of NTs which male Aspies can then apply to women in particular as 'the other'.

So yes, I think young Aspie males are more like to be misogynist. But because of the weird social dynamics that go on on the Internet, not solely caused by inherent traits of aspie males.

My life became a living hell because of these websites. My husband was struggling to adapt to the role of 'family man' when we had our son. He turned to paleo-con and eventually red pill, MRA sites that told him about the role of men. Handily these sites encouraged him to do LESS of the childrearing and housekeeping (despite the fact that I was working 90% of full time). And to take a 'hard line' with me, be 'the man' and a 'leader' telling me what to do. Of course, that meant treating me like s**t, because these sites ARE deeply misogynist. I'm pretty flexible, but I got more and more resentful of him telling me that stuff was naturally my job because I was 'the mother'.

Now that we are separated he's even more in the grip of these MRA sites and has told me stuff like "You're just like all American women...and I know how awful you are" WTF? How does he know? He's lived in the UK his whole life. And it's not like all American women are exactly the same, but that's an assertion repeated again and again on those red pill sites and I've certainly seen it asserted here in L&D.

Your husband was always a closet misogynist because he felt wrong to be a home dad; hence why he went to those sites in the first place, feeding his misogyny even more.

I doubt that PUA/Bodybuilding/Womenizing sites only have Aspies; do a quick browsing and you'll see they harbor thousands of active members, surpassing far more than WP - Aspies are a minority in the general population and so in these sites.

A quick browsing there, and you'll see the sexist things said there are more frequent far more misogynist than anything you can find on WP.

And PUA is much more related to the ultra pub/club culture - which is the total opposite of the typical Aspie comfort zone- the guys I personally knew who were seriously involved in this (ie. buying audiobooks, materials, membership in pua sites....etc) are of the social "party" type of guys who happen to be not so conventionally attractive.

I am not denying their existence, but I think the idea this thread is promoting "aspie are more likely to be misogynist" is wrong.

and your whole analysis is based on a very little data (the same reason you mentioned why pua sites are false): Your husband; and we aren't even sure he's aspie.

I am sure if a guy creates a thread "There are so many misandrist Aspie women on WP" it would be reported as downright offensive and closed within 10 mins.

And this is how this thread is becoming.
Now I predict that every woman here who has/had a bad relationship with a suspected aspie will come to this thread and vent it how aspie men are horrible and sexist lol.

@Boo - no one said that there are only Aspies on those horrible sites. I'm saying that the 'rules' of human relationships approach that many of these manosphere sites take may be particularly appealing to a systematising brain, particularly for a person who is struggling to have successful relationships anyway.

Was my spouse predisposed to misogyny? I'd argue pretty much every man on the planet is predisposed to it given the constant messages of women as lesser (to different degrees) in every society I know of. Was he MORE predisposed to it? Maybe, but I was certainly on the lookout for it and either missed it or it was well concealed. I was certainly on the lookout for a man who talked the right talk in terms of equality and respecting my career, respecting me, etc. His mother (until her retirement) worked and has a PhD.

The rules appealed to him. The selfish messages appealed to him. He would deny up and down that he's misogynist, but he certainly behaves that way, and he learned some of those behaviours from overtly misogynistic sites.

I'm not predisposed to anything misogynist-like. I love and respect women. They have special talents unique to them--as men do

To take the PUA types seriously is absurd. I don't come across those sorts of people. They are a fringe element of our society--at most. They are caricatures of themselves.

If anybody has any sense at all, that somebody would permanently put PUA types on permanent ignore, just like the men's rights advocates.

I think it's rather unfair to lump MRAs (human rights advocates by definition) together with PUAs. While I'm sure there are misogynists who hang around MRA sites, do look up the Honey Badger Brigade, and tell me all about how they're a bunch of raging misogynists.

MRA sites are full of them - they are the equivalent places of radical feminism sites.
