Same here. There...I've said it! Mine are Pull-ups, though. In the winter, I wear Pull-ups, because the cold weather has an effect on my bladder, and it's just easier. I can get by with napkins and underwear, in the summer. I need to drink 6 cups of water, a day, summer or winter.

I use a mooncup/keeper too and it has made having my period much easier for me.

The advantages are..
Its cheap, one off payment and it lasts for around 20 years.
No TSS, you can wear it for more than 8 hours and when you don't have your period.
None of the soreness associated with tampons.
Easier to dispose of the waste.
And if your interested it can be fun to see the amount that comes out of you and how it changes.

The disadvantages are...
That you have to sterilise it.
It makes funny loud suction like sounds when you put it in and take it out. people must wonder about that :D

There's a disposable version of this too...it's called "Instead softcup" http://www.softcup.com/ so you wouldn't need to sterilise it. I wouldn't use something like that...I absolutely hate tampons as it is...I can feel them in me. And these things look so *big* around...I find it uncomfortable to put a super-absorbency tampon in...I can't imagine putting that thing in.

Ooooh, I couldn't vote on this one! I don't use pads or tampons. I use a silicone cup (specifically the Diva Cup). It's healthier for your body, cheaper (it takes the place of 6-10 years' worth of tampons) and better for the environment.

I prefer pads, more specifically, always pads...the ones with the green wrapper. If i *must* use tampax, they need to be slimfits. I find regular ones really uncomfortable, and super absorbency ones nearly *impossible*

Yeah; I hate the regular sized tampons. I really hate the tampons that are supposed to spread out in you vagina because those really hurt to pull out.

Personally, I wear tampons only with a pantiliner just in case I start to leak through. I hate the feel of wearing a pad and its messy (not to be gross).

I wear pads. Tried tampons once, and it just wouldn't work lol. Not tried again since as I too fear TSS and just do not want to be inserting things up there when I am cramping.

The Instead softcup is not very good. If you go for a cup, go for the non-disposable kind. The sterilization only needs to be done every few months as long as you wash it well with soap and water regularly when you're using it.

The cup is actually much easier and more comfortable to insert and wear than tampons. Tampons are uncomfortable because they're dry when you insert them, and they absorb everything while they're in you, so when you take it back out your vaginal walls are unnaturally dry, which makes it even worse when you put a new one in. The cup, on the other hand, is wet with water and then inserted folded. It is smooth and non-absorbant, which means no dragging or tugging on your delicate tissues either inserting or removing. You cannot feel it at all while it is in (if you're doing it correctly, which only takes a few tries to learn). They do look big, you're right, but once it's folded, and also because it's not dry cotton, it is very easy to insert and not uncomfortable at all.

I've been wanting to try a keeper or similar product. I have never been able to use tampons, although I have successfully used sea sponges after having children. I make and use cloth diapers on my children, so I made myself some cloth pads. THey are SO much more comfortable than disposible pads, which feel icky. My favorite pads are made from cotton sherpa.

I have very heavy periods. I use super plus Playtex tampons & Stayfree thin overnites with wings...hate the feeling of having a surfboard in my underwear! Does anyone else have to use more than 1 tampon at a time to keep from having an accident? I am also forced to use heavy pads when it's really bad. Yesterday was one of those days! If it's normal, then I can get away with a regular sized tampon & a panty liner. Those are days that are rare...if my period was light, I wouldn't hate it so much.

I will never get used to this! I finally saw a doctor who says this is not normal & they are going to do their best to correct this problem! I wouldn't care if I never ever had another period even if it was light! LOL Never cared for it anyhow! It's gross & I am disgusted by my body at this time of the month.

I am exactly like you. Have to get up 2-3 times during the night. Change trouser during the day. I had my body too at that time. and then i found the mooncup! I am still using pads with it, but at least of going to the toilet every hours, i can wait 2 hours

I use pads, mainly because I have had a polyp in my uterus and in the end I was having my period all the time or better bleeding all the time and a mooncup seemed a bit too faffy at that time. The polyp is removed and I am seriously thinking to start using a mooncup. I hear many good things about it!

Glad to see lots of AS girls using Mooncups or Diva cups. :)

They are environmentally friendly, convenient, work excellent and are definitely cost efficient.

Here's a link to find out more: Reuseable Silicone Menstrual Cup (not as scary as it sounds)

And IB Profin (or a generic equivalent) works wonders!
