Sometimes I dress similar to a guy. Most of the time I'm gender neutral, but I've been wearing a lot of feminine things lately, especially dresses.

Womens clothes are uncomfortable but I'm tiny so have to wear women's jeans cause guys ones don't fit. I have a standard collection of the following which is good for most of the year when it's not too hot:
Shoes: If I can help it no shoes, but if I have to either '70s looking sneakers or army boots
Trousers: Straight legged jeans
Shirt: big baggy mens shirts/checked cotton shirts/flanelette shirts
Over the shirt: army jackets/business suit jackets/another shirt/leather jackets/baggy hooded jumpers

I also have a mullet but my hair's really messy and boofy due to having australian aboriginal heritage. I don't want to buy hairspray or anything and can't be bothered straightening it so usually tie back or wear a beanie. Apparently I look like a timewarp or a hippie but I don't care cause they're not really insults to me :) No one thinks I'm feminine but I never cared what other people thought.

I used to love "girly" clothes as a kid then when I turned six I began to dislike them. By the time I was 8 though "dislike" turned into full blown hatred as I began puberty too early and girly clothes only highlighted what I wanted to hide.

As an adult I would dress in mens clothing or a mixture; like a man's pinstripe suit with pumps and a tight blouse, makeup hair down in a veronica lake style.

As I get older I love femme clothing more and more yet I recognize how uncomfortable it can be.

Another thing that changed as I got older (and why I love skirts now) is I found pants began to annoy the heck out of me! When I wear them I can't wait to change.

A nice comfy sun-dress can breath well, doesn't smother your legs, feels femme but you're not putting your comfort levels second.

Not like a guy exactly, but not girly much. Sometimes I will if I need to. Mostly I wear jeans and a tshirt so I guess I dress like a 12 year old. I even wear jeans and a tshirt to work. I usually have to change into scrubs or wear a lab coat over my clothes so I (and many others there) don't feel the need to dress up at all.

I'm 41 and I'm naturally very pretty. This subject intrigues me because I feel feminine and want to dress girly but don't know how, so I kind of do dress like a guy. My daily uniform is jeans and sweater/hoodie or shorts and t-shirt depending on the weather. I wear makeup but not much, and I wear no jewelry except my wedding ring. I continuously buy dresses, jewelry, heels hoping I'll actually muster up the confidence to wear them but they remain in my closet with the tags still on for months and years until I finally donate them.

I want so badly to be seen as a cute or sexy woman, but when I try to look the part I feel like a clown, like I look ridiculous. I would love to understand why. Does anyone else feel this way?

Yes. I don't feel like a regular woman. I obviously am since I have two kids, but I don't feel like... typical at all. sometimes when I see myself in the mirror I don't even recognize myself as myself. I always thought it was due to my short stature (I'm 4'10") but I guess it could be something else. I never thought about it other than I'm simultaneously OK and accept who am, but at the same time would like to be typical.

I don't if I would say I dress like a guy but I definitly don't dress like a girl. I guess gender neutra. Sweats or yoga type pants, T-shirt, hoodie, sneakers. I avoid bras by wearing a hoodie all year long and never make up. I hate girlie things. And girl clothes are especially uncomfortable to me.

Guess I'm not the only one.

Jeans are the only leg wear I can really stand. I hate all other types of pants, especially sweat pants. Hated them since I was a kid, thought they made my thighs look twice as huge and couldn't stand the lint-balls that would form in the...between the legs area.... I hardly ever wear skirts or makeup. I don't wear my hair long but that's because my hair is so thick it gets very wild and unruly and I look like I've been struck by lightening. But I don't get why I need all those things to look female, I think there is still plenty of evidence that I'm a woman, and I like wearing pink and purple colors. I also nearly always wear sneakers. I have to because I do a lot of walking and need shoes that don't brutalize my feet. I'm also flat-footed and have a problem with my left foot that makes walking sometimes painful, especially when I get up in the morning. Plantar-somethingorother-itis, my doctor diagnosed it and according to what I read it's usually what professional runners get. :) I seem to be choosing function over fashion more and more. Maybe I'm just getting old... my whole body is supposed to completely fall apart in less than two more years, and I'll be spending my days in my rocking chair stroking one of my over 20 cats. I won't be able to climb up and down the stairs any more because of arthritis in my knees (I'm not kidding, my doctor diagnosed me with it when it started becoming hard and painful to climb stairs) and my apartment will become a huge mess from neglect and hoarding until the police finally come and lock me away in a nursing home.

It depends on the weather and how I feel. At home I like to be comfortable and wear sweat pants or yoga pants and a tee. When I go out I will wear jeans and a blouse or nice tee or when it is hot I will wear a comfortable skirt or dress sometimes. More often than not I am in jeans at home or after work. At work I will wear a skirt more often than pants and it just depends.

Hi, I'm 40 and only slightly pretty naturally. :D I'm certain that fashion sense doesn't come to us naturally and have to be learned, like social skills. I only started paying attention to fashion 3 years ago and have learned a lot. I mostly just pay attention to people who look pretty, and look at clothes catalogs and fashion blogs. Eventually you get some ideas. Also, when you have the time, put on various outfits and check in full length mirrors. Best way to find out what looks good on you is to try them on. Don't forget to hold a hand mirror to check the back view as well.

If you don't have a lot of clothes to try on, go to a large thrift store and try on all sorts of different styles and colors in your size range. You might be surprised what looks great on you. I suggested thrift store due to the vast range of styles and brands spanning many decades of fashion. Not like a regular store with limited selection of brands and only what's current. Plus, if you fall in love with a piece, or 5 pieces, it's not gonna cost you very much. :D

I always liked simple classic jewelry so that's easy. You gotta have them organized and easily accessible. Put on your outfits first, then pick out some jewelry and any other accessories. Unlike clothes, jewelry are much more flexible. You probably won't ruin your look by choosing earrings that are a bit too long, bracelets that are too chunky or necklace that's too dainty. :) So feel free to choose whatever you like. Try not to overdo it, though. i.e. Putting on a matched set of necklace, earrings, bracelet and ring. Only people who are filthy rich or going to a very important party need to do that. :)

I haven't mastered other accessories yet so can't tell you much about that.

Hope that helped. It just takes time and experiment to figure out. If you feel really clueless about a piece you have, just google it. i.e. "What to wear with XXXX"

that's the spirit lol

If a guy doesn't like me for ME. if a guy doesn't like how I dress, act, if i fix my hair, put on make up, wear heels, then he's not worth my time. if that means i will spend my life alone, without a guy, then so be it. i will not compromise my comfort to be someone i am not. i will dress the way i want to, to be comfortable and express who i am as a person, not to make others happy. every once in a while i feel the need to dress feminine but for the most part, i am most comfortable in guys clothes. guys jeans are far more comfortable then girls jeans. i can't stand skin tight jeans!!

I get my better clothes from the boys department (such as all of my funky shirts). Still have to wear female undergarments. I did wear my brother's boxers once. They were comfortable. :-)

One of my sweaters is a guy's sweater and bought just because I liked how it looks.

I never thought that I was dressing like a guy, only wearing what was comfortable for me. I went through a bad time in college when I dressed almost exclusively in men's flannel shirts layered over t-shirts and jeans with boots. Other female students went around saying I was a lesbian. When I bought a leather jacket and a masculine looking hat, they were convinced. I'm straight. I couldn't understand why they cared so much? Who the hell has time to get all dressed up for an 8 am lab class anyway! Now I veer back and forth. I wear my fiance's long sleeved knit shirts in the winter, and I have a pair of black riding boots. I wear sweats or cropped pants, and I sleep in men's cotton boxer shorts and sleeveless tank tops. They are far more comfortable than women's sleepwear but not as pretty. I also have pretty dresses that I wear for special occasions, and several long cotton skirts that I pair with tunics sometimes. I feel that I am a comfortable mix of male/female, and it's fine!

My look for most of my teen years was undoubtedly grunge. Occasional swappage with cargo pants and striped teeshirts.

I even cut my hair short and refused to wear the color pink at all until I was 21. Now I can tolerate dress, I can tolerate pink, and my hair is 7 inches past shoulder so I just generally dress depending on mood now.

Yes. After my bf came into my life, I began wearing more skirts. Especially miniskirts.

I wear women's clothing, but mostly t-shirts that aren't too tight and jeans. I wear thermal shirts under my t-shirts in the colder months, and I have a huge collection of hooded sweatshirts. I wear skirts or dress pants when I have to, but I find them uncomfortable. I wear spandex shorts under skirts and dresses to stop my legs from rubbing together so that it's more tolerable. I hate button-down shirts as they feel restrictive to me. I like to have room in my clothing to move around. I have a few pairs of heels, but I never wear them. I wear flats when I have to dress up, but I usually wear sneakers or loafers. I don't wear makeup unless I'm getting dressed up. I keep my hair on the shorter side and I don't tend to style it. I wear a pair of stud earrings and a simple necklace made out of paper beads most days, and my medic alert necklace. I wear my engagement ring, promise ring, and a ring my great-aunt gave me. I don't really wear jewelry for fashion, everything I war has a purpose or a special meaning to me. I look like a female, but one that is a bit "frumpy". I've been mistaken for a lesbian at times, but I'm not really bothered.

I tend to either dress like a guy or in more gender neutral outfits which could work for a guy or girl.
