My hair is strawberry blonde. It's gotten more blonde on top as I get older. I've dyed it blonde to hide the gray and the red comes through no matter what color I use. I've also dyed it auburn because I always think I need more color. It's been shorter, but now it's down to about the middle of my back. I've cut it as short as two inches long and had it as long as my hips. It's straight and super fine. My stylists always say I have alot of hair, but it's so straight and fine that you can't really tell because it just hangs there. Even when my hair was two inches long it wouldn't stand up. My stylist tries occasionally to give it body, but she gives up. She used to perm it, but after 72 hours, I would wash it and the curl would go straight. She told me it was too much effort for no effect. My brothers all have wavy to curly hair, dark blonde and no red in it.

Would layers help?

Mine is now a darker blonde, and I have straight across bangs which used to be just above my eyebrows, but now they are covering my eyes. I want to dye it a dark brown.

I think we have the same hair, ZannMarie, and I HATE layers! I either get a boy cut (been years since I did that, though), get the cut where it's pretty short in back and angles down to chin length in front, long enough to put behind my ears, or I just have it all one length, no bangs. My hair is so straight and fine, I can't curl it if I want to. I have also been told I have a lot of hair, but you can't tell. If that is a pic of you, your hair is fuller than mine.

Mine is medium ash brown naturally, an ugly grayish color. I put red into it and it looks much more natural on me. I have a redhead complexion.

My hair is pitch black, very soft - not wiry or kinky - but very curly.

Long to my waist. But oddly, not very plentiful. Which is probably a good thing.

It's a bit hard to keep, I wash it once every couple of days; on the days I don't wash it I make a neat ponytail that looks good.

Now I have a combination...bobbed in the front with bangs...braids in the back. I have to keep it in braids, as it does not look very good when it is down....I have had two bobs that both grew out since my last post.

Brown, down to my nipples. I don't really cut it, or get anything done to it. I experimented with hair gel, but it just seems silly and extranious, and I don't like the texture. I generally wear it down or up in a ponytail.

My hair is medium brown with a red hue to it and is very thick, so often that I break about four to ten hair scrunchies a week. It's straight and without volume, and I usually wear it down or in a high bun at home. When it is longer I take a hair clip and flip it to make a fountain appearance which is my "signature" style, of sorts.

I plan to grow my hair out to my waist, but right now it is halfway between my shoulders and breasts. I cut it at the start of summer to above my shoulders. :?

It's almost to my mid spine when dry, dense, black and curly. The black colour is from dye, the natural colouring is a dark red-brown.

I used to have it done like Carrie Anne Moss in the Matrix movies, but I grew it out. My hair is too thick for that.

My hair is mid length, thick, wavy-ish and dark brown with blonde streaks.

About chin length and brown.

3/4 gray, long, wavy, fly-away...resembles "polynesian hair", curls up when oiled. People were paying big bucks during the 80's for a hairstyle I had naturally... a long-haired perm)
I gave up on dye but used to dye it anywhere from deep red to blue black. The best color was "Raven Sunset" also known as Burgundy Black which was discontinued for not being a big seller. I have to brush and comb it about 7 times a day to prevent knots. It's a constant chore because I chose to keep it long. I MUST condition after every shampoo or I can't get a comb through it. Now, that I'm almost 50, I'll probably cut it short because it's beginning to be a pain in the neck. I could be doing other things instead fo playing with my hair so much.

Green? How do you colour it? It is a veggie based dye? :)
I saw someone with a deep eggplant-purple color once. It WAS different but looked rather good actually. This girl claimed it was a henna product imported from Morocco.

Tis indeed veggie based. I used Directions dye, you can mix them together to make whatever colour you want, much like paint. It's not from as far as Morocco, just the usual stuff from alternative fashion stores. It's kinda faded now to lime green, trying to get it out of my hair but it won't budge :P

My hair's Polynesian - my dad's Hawaiian. It can be curly but if I let it grow it's dark and wavy. It could be partly from my mom, too. She's half Cherokee and our color is identical.

It's just above my bra strap. It can be very wild. I love that.
