I used to be obsessed with elephants when I was a little girl. I used to collect plush elephants. I still think they're nice, but I have a lot of other interests now.

See I never understood why they often say aspie girls are into literature and animals well more so literature. I hate literature, my mom tried for many yrs to get me to read and I never did. I rarely read anything fictional and stick to factual reading 99% of the time. Well that being said, some of my interests:

1) Health/Psychology, reality medical shows
2) Aspergers, social skills and how it affects me
4) Certain celebrity stuff, popular music

How nazi´s, fanatic priests and other leaders were/are able to manipulate so many people into believing in their extreme opinions.

Right now it´s how the church in the past times where able to manipulate people into believing in witches and manipulate children into telling stories about how they were taken away to places where witches had parties with the devil himself (old Swedish tales).

I really despise what they were/are doing but at the same time I find those leaders and their psychs extremely fascinating.

"Animals and literature." That's me. Specifically the canis lupus genus and dinosaurs and The Lord of the Rings. I also really like science fiction television shows, especially Doctor Who and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Minor interests include psychology and the paranormal, also shape-shifters.

Ones I have but don't like are browsing the Internet and playing phone games because I always end up being on them way longer than I really intended or wanted to.

As a child:
Dogs. I learned all the breeds, what they were bred for, their breed standards, etc.

Encyclopedias. I had a whole set in my bedroom and read them every night in bed. I was usually reading about dogs.

I had a Popeye doll instead of a baby doll. I also had a Barbie doll but hardly ever played with it. When I did, I melted her hair trying to curl it.

As an adult:
The paranormal, angels, ghosts, fairies, time slips, UFOs, aliens, signs from the dead, etc.

Facebook. YouTube, the weather, conspiracy theories, healthcare and the corrupt system, natural medicine, anti-aging is a big one too. I dread aging in looks mostly.
I was never into literature. In fact, I loathe it so much that I changed my major in college from English to biology in order to avoid it.
I love mixing up music with software programs and I still love dogs.

Interesting.

Many of mine over the years have come under the heading of:
TV series, or particular characters in them
Books, or particular characters in them
Things to do with words or language
Supernatural and occult stuff
Psychological stuff
Medical stuff
Particular guys - some of them in everyday life (which was kind of embarrassing), some of them famous. A lot of the famous ones tend to be dead, which has tended to get me some funny looks if people know about them. (The John Lennon phase, about age 12-16, got me thoroughly mocked complete with a 'special' song some of my classmates wrote to regale me with on December 8th every year. ) They're always creative guys, and it feels like I have sort of a muse relationship with them, in that they inspire my own creativity...but I can't have that thing going unless I find them attractive as well. You can probably guess who's my muse right now.

RedHairedGrrl...I had an obsession a few years ago which I still haven't really let go of over Dudley Moore. I saw the movie Arthur on TV one day and fell in love with him. I then bought his biography, looked for his music, watched YouTube videos of him over and over again. I'm still not over it 100%.
I notice also that anything paranormal seems to be a recurring theme with aspie obsessions.

I have a lot of obsessions, but I think the most predominant one is liking fictional guys. I've been liking a fictional guy since I was 4 years old. Even though the fictional guy I'm liking changes from time to time, I still have the obsession until now, making the obsession 13 years old.

A few I can list off the top of my head, in no particular order:

Assorted books/movies/TV shows - When I get into fiction, I get REALLY into it. Trivia, information about the actors, analyzing the characters, writing fanfiction, researching any relevant topics (ship diagrams for Pirates of the Caribbean, space travel for Star Wars, etc.), other works by the same writers, and so forth. I tend to go through these in phases, with some lasting weeks and others spanning years.

Psychology - Especially stuff relating to personality, but I've been known to spend hours reading on just about any aspect of psychology that catches my eye.

Weather - I check my phone's weather app 10-20 times per day, watch the radar to see if I agree with the forecast, track incoming storms, etc. I live in Texas, so tornado season is particularly exciting for me. The last time we had one go by, my mom had to pull me inside because I was intent on filming it. One of my bucket list items is to go storm chasing.

Autism - Somewhat ironically, I can monologue about ASDs for a solid 45 minutes before I'll realize what I'm doing. I work a lot with kids/teens who are on the spectrum and am in the process of writing my honors thesis on employing adults with AS, so it's definitely a topic I feel passionate about. Unfortunately, not all of my friends/family/casual acquaintances agree (or at least, not after the first 15 minutes).

Assorted skills - Every so often, I'll randomly decide to pick up a new hobby and throw myself into entirely for a few months, then move on to the next. My main two right now are baking and knitting.
