Likewise. I almost never buy dresses because it's already hard enough to match bust-waist or waist-hip. If I do get a dress, it's usually one that flares away from the hips so fit isn't as big of a deal. I've also been trying to learn to fix this issue with accessorizing, but the art of wearing a belt continues to mystify me.

I would hourglass would be easy to fit. Shows what I know....

I know there are some women's jeans that are perfect for hourglasses -- Cherokee and Rocky Mountain. I'm actually not sure if either are still made. All I know is that I couldn't even THINK of wearing them. You have to have a waistline like a spider to get into them.

I never have been able to wear two-piece "sets", such as business suits and bathing suits, nor things like dresses with built-in waistlines and one-piece jumpsuits. I've never been the same size on top and bottom -- normally I'm two sized bigger on top than bottom. I've always had to piece together my outfits - jeans and T-shirts, slacks and sweaters, etc.

A belt can be a good fix with a lot of clothing, I usually go for wider ones, but I sometimes have to shorten the length a bit to fit my waist. I've also find some stretchy fabric dresses that actually fit, but nowadays I've also learned how to use a sawing machine to make a quick fix on the waist area when needed.

Webalina, I understand where you come from, but even if one's bust and hip are the same sized, most clothing doesn't look flattering, if it's baggy on your waist area.

If only I could FIND a waist area on my frame! I'm built like the letter Y -- wide shoulders, big boobs, and then straight down from there -- no waist and no hips. What little hip curve I did have disappeared when my estrogen dropped off from menopause and then a total hysterectomy. At one time, my measurements were 42-32-35. And now that I'm older and more sedentary, I have a belly. But you are right...defined waistlines are more flattering, as long as you don't go so tight you get full view of the muffin top and shoulder blade wings.

Kinda. I have a large bust, but not much of a butt. I guess that makes me top-heavy :P

Funny, I interpreted girlish as thin and waifish! Childlike.

I have a very womanly hourglass ++ shape. Broad shoulders and broad hips, but a comparatively narrow waist. But I still wear men's clothes:~
They are long enough and the shoulders are broad enough. I don't like being squeezed. And women's clothes are so undignified.

I am 105 pounds. My doctor said that I would be less than 100 if my boobs were removed. That is how big they are. I look like an inappropriate drawing done by an inartistic teenage boy: a stick figure with boobs.

I have a thin to average feminine body. Sometimes I show it. More commonly I hide it with looser clothing. I don't wear masculine clothing but when women wear plain loose clothing, I think they quickly look tomboyish, if they don't wear makeup and jewelry.

I have an hourglass figure, with normal to wide hips (unfortunately I also have a large butt), a small waist, and a large bust. Which surprises many people considering how short I am.

I think I am somewhat of a pear. I have average-sized breasts, with a slightly larger butt and hips. I am around 5'2".

I had an hourglass figure before I had a child. Now I have a figure shaped like an very ineffective hourglass that would allow the sand to rush through rather quickly.

I think that my body and face are mostly "girlish".
Exept for the breasts. I was told that I look almost flat-chested.
