I used to wear tons of makeup, almost like a mask. Later,I lightened up on it, and when my eyes went bad I stopped wearing it at all for a few years. I can see alright with glasses on but it was too hard to see what I was doing so I quit.
Almost a year ago I read about some women using magnified light up mirrors, so I bought one. I looked in the mirror and came face to face with "The Crypt keeper.' i guess magnified mirrors are rough on anyone, but I used to look so young for my age and the meds I am on suck away the estrogen [yes. there is post hormonal estrogen. and it's the favorite food of my type of cancer]. and now I look years older than my age. I was devaststed. I ran down to Target and bought some "miracle Blur," which helped ease the horror of my appearance a little bit. I did not like what I saw in the mirror, but I was able to put my makeup on. When I was finished with the makeup,I would turn the mirror to the non magnified side, and that was not nearly as scary.
Anyway, one male makeup artist who does nice makeup tutorials for women is Wayne Goss. He is so good and he seems so sweet and he truly believes that every woman has her own unique beauty.
