Male "feminists"

The maps I linked to also show the status of women in the USA as well, and in many areas we are far from equal there, too.

I can't help but think of the Thomas Jefferson quote, "I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend."

Personally, I'm an anarchist. I don't believe in any sort of heirarchy (including a patriarchy or matriarchy). That doesn't stop me from being friends with republicans, democrats, socialists, communists or people of any other ideology.

There are billions of people out there who think they know how the world should be run, who say, "If only everybody else understood what I do." The thing is that with all the different conflicting ideas out there, most (if not all) of us are wrong. We each need to consider that very real possibility.

So, when I'm speaking with a republican for example and they're telling me how they think gay marriage should be illegal, I disagree, but I feel no need to "correct" them because I see no reason to believe that I'm any less screwed up than everybody else on Earth. Instead, I tell them exactly what I just told you; that we probably both have our heads up our asses, then add something to the effect of "I care about you as a human being and I like to imagine you've got some empathy (or at least sympathy) for me too."

Some folks don't extend the same courtesy and that's fine. As much as I wish it wasn't the case, there will always be people out there who just aren't going to be your friend. That's fine though. If they don't want anything to do with you, you probably don't want anything to do with them, right?

I do think it's kind of funny that you say you don't like men who say they are a part of the group you identify with. Presumably females with the same views are okay, but not men. You also call feminism "the womans club." I don't know you, but these two things do seem to imply something... Once again though, neither one of us has any reason to believe we're any more right than anybody else that makes long posts on the internet about their political views.

I'd be more interested in seeing how it is state to state. I've never left my middle ground slightly left leaning city in my left leaning state. so i only know how it is here which is pretty good.

though I feel submisive to women. women have always been the ones in charge in my life. hard for a submissive guy to find a girl. even in my area.

They are all available online. Google 'gender and wage differences in California' (or your state) and 'violence against women in California statistics (or your state)', etc. Women don't have equality yet, and to make fun of feminism and say there is no need for it because of what we see individually in our own lives is failing women. That means all women, you know, like your future girlfriend, the possible mother of your children, your daughter, your sister, your grandma, etc.

It is better in some states than others in the USA, but it's still not equal. And this is why we still need feminism.

I only stated that if they are fighting for equal rights for both sexs then I think a name change to more clearly state that is in order.

Sorry to upset you, but we are still fighting for equal rights for women. I think I am done sharing links with you to help you learn why, but I do hope you explore it more. When women are equal, maybe we can worry about making men 'more equal' or whatever it is you think men are missing out on.

then talk to the rest of your feminist who say they are fighting for equal rights for all. I'm not the one saying that. as a man though I should care more about male rights. i prefer to fight for equality for all which is why i won't join feminism, men rights, or any other one group only rights organization. not that feminism seems to want men in it anways since some believe men are evil and the enemy.

anyways, i just not going care as most women I know make far more then men if not equal. every woman at my job makes the same as me unless they've been there longer. companie gives pay increases on time in company. don't get the whole "well maybe its good where you live but its not here, so you should feel bad and move to fix problems elsewhere" man that would just be a super depressing life.

just as a question where does it stop?

should a woman who does half the work as a man get paid the same?

just asking as there are some companies who hire and pay women who aren't qualified to sit in an empty office just to meet a quota. i believe in pay=skill. though I'm not one to be biased based on sex, friendship, relationship, race, etc.
I'd hire a well skilled person over my family. in reality most people hire based on friendships in my area. so relationship>then if they can do the job.

nothing out there a woman can't do that a man can't but if a woman not women but one in particular goes to a job and performs 50% as good as others I'd pay theme less(well probably fire., well probably neither i'm too nice and submissive) I've never met a woman at a job who didn't do it well as others and get paid the same. so focusing on me and my area would seem to be bad plan.

perhaps, though the amount of people posting doesn't equal what the numbers say we have and we no longer have gender, but back 3 months ago it felt like there were only 20 women posting, with like 6 doing most of the active posting, atleast in L&D, politics, adult, gaming, and heaven. maybe theres more people in other areas but i don't follow them. general as way to many posts for me to keep up with so likely a whole lot of people there.

never been against feminism, but if I'm to be painted as the enemy and if its going be a females vs males, us or them thing, then I guess I'll have to go with males and us. I just fail to see why it has to be such a way

You don't bother to educate yourself and prefer to wallow in your own self-righteousness, slyfox. That's why you don't understand what the issue is. Willful ignorance isn't something anybody can fix but yourself. I have no more to say on the topic. And, by the way, you are more than welcome that I spent so much of my valuable time looking up links to show you why feminism is needed. I didn't have to do that. I won't do it again.
