I am not really into fashion, I prefer comfortable clothing and shoes but as a child, I always wanted to wear my mothers high heels because I liked the pattern of sounds when the heels clicked the ground.

I like wearing high heels that are really, really short. I feel feminine in them but I don't have balance issues when they're only an inch high. haha!

My feet are abnormally small and it is difficult to even find any kind of shoe with more than a 2-inch heel. What is more, when I do wear heels, they sound too loud when I walk. Instead of a light clicking sound, it is more like a clomp-clomp-clomp sound. It stands out too much and brings the wrong kind of attention for me.

I remember being really little, like around three and being obsessed with shoes (I hate feet, so anything that covers them is fantastic). I hated growing out of particular ones to the point my mum would buy shoes in a couple of sizes for me!

I love high heels, and could not wait to be old enough to wear proper ones to make that click click sound. Even now, when I am foing to work or somewhere that makes me nervous I focus in on that sound.

I'd love to be able to wear heels, but I've never been graceful and I really can't get the hang of them. MomofTom's point about going "clomp clomp" rather than "click click" perfectly describes me trying to lumber around in dainty shoes.

I've now got the same style of closed-in flat-soled dress shoe in three different colours for work. They look a bit silly with a skirt, but it's better than twising ankles, falling over, and those blasted heel-straps that never stay in place!

You know if you are think you are uncomfortable in them or not sure how to walk in them, don't be discouraged...it's actually really hard to find high heels that are well designed to support the foot and stay on properly....

Make sure you try them on in the shop, walk around....and then do it again on carpet when you get home....if they don't feel right, maybe it's not you, it can sometimes be the shoe - take them back.

High heels are FTW - I can't walk in them worth a damn.

But Bass Shoe Outlets have really nice dress shoes that are designed for us non-heel wearing types. I don't know why you want high heel shoes, but if you want to dress up without breaking your neck, I'd recommend Bass Shoe outlet.

I can't walk in heels. Watching people run in them is scary as well.

I love heals. I like the way they look better than the way they feel. I can only wear certain types. Usually wedge heals which are much more comfortable and are the only ones I walk in. I have comfortable heals believe it or not.

I love the knee high leather looking boots with three inch wedge heals and zippers up the side. Very sexy. I'm short so I like the height.

I almost never wear them though. I prefer my tennis shoes. Comfort over looks for me.

I'll be going back in the work force soon though and will need to buy some. 8)

It took me forever to figure out how to walk in them so don't feel bad.

Clogs can look classy and they are better for your back.

As a random sidenote, a boy in our high school wore a skirt and high heels again today. He walks in them very well.

I wear heels pretty frequently...and i tend to be less clumsy in them, simply because I have to pay attention to what my feet are doing...but i usually stick to wedges.

No! I'm 48 years old, with 2 artificial knees & all sorts of arthritis. I used to wear heels. I can't tell you how many times I fell off them (often due to my ankles, sometimes knees). I don't recommend it.

I also don't recommend not wearing a bra, if you're well-endowed. I tried that, when I was in my late teens/early twenties. I've never had kids, but boy, have my breasts fallen! If I had it to do over again, I'd be in a bra when it wasn't time to go to bed.

I hate high heels, and I can't use them because I have big feet.

One day my mom wanted to buy high heels for me, I didn't want but my mom mad me try a lot of models and types, although my mom found high heels of my size number, I couldn't fit them.

I'm pretty sure that my wife was aspie, and she walked in heels better than most women.

Yuck, I hate the look of high heels and would loathe to wear them. Give me my boots or sandals anyday.

Hrm...all my boots, and most of my sandals have some sort of heal...(Though for many of the sandals it is a "wedge")

I make sure my shoes have no heel at all... I am already tall and would hate to be taller.

I'm 6'1. But when you wear a womens size 12, you can't be picky about what you wear for shoes ;)

Oh, yeah. It's what you can find that fits and isn't too hard on the eyes. I tend to buy two pair of the same if I ever find one I really like, because when the first pair wears out I'll never find the exact same thing on the shelf again.

I enjoy being tall. I can see over people's heads and never have problems getting things down from store shelves. Now that clothing is readily available for tall women (it was hard finding jeans that were long enough, back in the 60s and 70s), there's no real drawback to being tall in a short world. Except for hitting one's head on the roof of small, subcompact cars when ya do a speed bump too fast.

I too like being tall. I'm a big girl. If people have a problem with it, then they need to get over it because sitting in the dryer sure won't make me shrink. For my size 12 feet I buy shoes online. The only store that actually carries that size in town is payless and I find the quality of their footware to not be very good and those shoes more likely to fall apart on me. Though once they had a pair of trainers in my size at the athetic shoe store. I like them, they fit better than men's shoes.

I don't really do heels at all. Maybe a short on occasion. And I mean short. But I will wear wedges. Or sandles where the heel is short and big enough. Everyonce in a while I feel compelled to wear them for some reason-- like if I want to be dressier than just my mary janes. I love mary janes. They hurt. I can't walk in them. I suppose with practice it gets better. But why practice that? Work on your posture instead if you want to practice walking around.
