What were you like as a child?

My mom saved all my report cards from kindergarten until 6th grade. The comments portion says the same thing by every teacher. "She needs to speak up and participate with the class". I was criminalized for being a quiet person who was not very interactive but I never caused trouble or bothered anyone. Every day, nonstop bullied by teachers to 'interact'. It was the 70's. If it were today maybe I would have not been badgered to the extent that I was afraid to go to school. Always tested high but just quiet.

Apparently, I was a typical baby until I had a form of epilepsy that eventually went away. Other than that, I was often shy as a child, and only found friends through Girl Scouts and later, band. I wasn't diagnosed with Aspeger's until I was in my late 20's, as when I was growing up, only those who were low functioning and male were diagnosed with autism.
