I wear it occasionally. Usually for work I use mascara and blusher (from years of my Grandma telling me I look anaemic, heh) and always a conditioning lip balm, but that's it. I do love going all out when I go out at night though - bright fluoro colours, weird colour combinations, silly styles... I love experimenting with it.

The only problem is I can only use natural stuff - I use only organic household products (not chemicals) and the same for my skin, so why should makeup be any different? It makes it bloody expensive, but to not clog my pores and let my skin absorb all manner of gunk it's worth it I think. My skin is so good compared to most people now.

Sorry- I'll expand on that. He thinks that I don't wear make-up because I don't place enough pride in my appearance and hence have low self-esteem. Not the other way around :)

I do place pride in my appearance, my hair is always clean, I bathe very regularly and my face is always clean- just not made up!

I HATE wearing make-up. Although I *do* wear it occasionally, when going out somewhere 'special' (read: a girls' night out, wedding anniversary dinner, etc.), but even then it's only Natural Glow, some lippy and a teeny bit of mascara. Certainly, I have no idea about doing the whole make-up / accesorising thing, which my friends seem too be able to handle with great aplomb.

As for nail polish - I wore it once and LOATHED it immensely. Even now I shudder at the thought of painting my nails. What's the bloody point? I think.

Agreed. It's full of gunk that's awful for you (pthalates etc) but aside from that, it just chips and looks revolting after a few hours anyway! And when you put it on it gets all bumpy and messy and I always get it on my fingers, and no matter how good I am with the nail-polish-remover-soaked-cotton-tipped-stick it just makes it worse. Ugh.

I didn't care too much about make-up until my recent medical problems. Make-up is an extra pick me up to get me going in the mornings. Luckily, I met a very helpful woman at a a make-up store who was able to give me simple instructions on how to apply it. It takes me about five minutes to put on foundation, eye powder, and lip gloss. I have always liked nail polish. The vast assortment of shiny colors fascinates me.

I've been watching "What Not to Wear" over break and there are a fair amount of women that come on there admitting to not wearing makeup. Of course Carmondy always works with them to give them a natural look that doesn't take long but she hasn't converted me yet--I'll stick to the real natural look (ie not using it at all!)

You could just try mascara and a natural-ingredient-filled clear lipgloss? Often that's all it takes!!

I like your style... ;)

As I said, I usually don't bother with much, just mascara for work (and REN natural lipgloss to keep 'em kissable, haha).

If you don't need it, all the better... just think of all those parabens and TEAs and glycols and things you aren't absorbing at a daily rate... the kilos of lipstick you aren't eating a year... the pores you aren't clogging... ;)

That would annoy me no end. Not wearing make up can actually mean you do have pride in your appearance and that you don't want to look all caked up and with panda eyes.

I am considering starting to wear a little bit of lippie again but that is about all I could tolerate.

I am very much a closet 'What Not to Wear' freak.
Shh... Don't tell. :)

I secretly love that show, even though I really am not even close to being style/fashion obsessed or even conscious really.
I like both Stacey, Clinton, and Carmindy alot, but I don't really like Nick... He always gives people short haircuts. And I mean ALWAYS. Long hair looks nice too but he NEVER gives them cuts with hair anywhere near past their shoulders. I just find it annoying.
But I really like Carmindy(however her name is spelled) because she always makes them look BEAUTIFUL. I think that the make-up she puts on women, even if they don't want to apply it every day, the occasional make-up job makes them feel more confident and makes them feel gorgeous and proud of their personal appearance by ampifing and 'playing-up' and their naturally striking facial features.

I NEVER wear makeup. Wouldn't know how even if I wanted to.
It looks terribly complicated.
And the one time I had it on, it was SO uncomfortable. Felt awful on my skin.
Anyway. We don't need makeup.

Me too. I can wear mascara and occasionally a lipstick that isn't too greasy/waxy (just color). I find it too much wearing mascara at work, as part of my job is physical and another part involves lots of yawing, so my lashes get moist and my eyes get irritated if I'm wearing mascara. If I have had very little sleep or I need to make an impression/have my photo taken/record a video, I might use concealer and powder too. But I can't wait to take it off. Makeup feels heavy, stifling, and itchy, as if some heavy malodorous animal is sitting on my face.

Lipstick and lip gloss is something I could wear, but that is about all (apart from nail polish). I dislike wearing mascara with a passion - it feels awful to me and just like some gunky mud is weighing down my lashes.

I never wear makeup but I went through a brief phase were I wanted to wear makeup but barely wore it. I dont like especially when older ladies put on too much makeup, its just caked on there face and it looks ugly and unnatural with too much foundation and stuff.

I hate makeup for 2 reasons:

1- I'm in the military and regulations don't allow females to wear make-up in uniform

and

2- people look dumb when they wear too much of it and I'd be afraid of either giving myself a rash or looking like a freak.

Not to mention if God wanted you to have a painted face he would have created our skin like that....
