I like the pluto thing being totally out of context. I find that amusing. Pluto is a dog.

Parents put me in some classes I didn't really want. Ballet, tap, and jazz class combined for less than a year, and then we moved. Ballet and tap were ok, but what I really liked were the stretches, which grew into a lifelong use of yoga. What I liked least about the classes was the noise level and chaos. Practicing at home was better.
I would never be a ballerina but I think the classes helped me be more graceful and helped my balance and awareness of posture...but not body/facial language.

When I was about 8 or 9 I took ballet lessons, by choice, for about 6 weeks before refusing to return.

Although I don't remember saying it, my mother still laughs when she recalls me telling her: "I wanted to learn how to dance, not have that b!tch (ie teacher) yell at me".

I still have a low tolerance for that sort of treatment and a tendency to run from conflict so I can imagine how it went lol!

I was good at it, but no-one should put up with that treatment.

I did jazz ballet as well when I was four years old, but I quit because I felt sooo stupid looking in the pink tutu I had to wear. I just felt embarassed with my mom and dad up there in my stupid tutu.
How weird is it for a four year old to even think about that?

I got tricked into clicking "no" on the poll

Never did ballet. Wasn't really into girly things except a bit of Barbie and dress up (apparently anyway) but I grew away from that and never enjoyed being girly.

Pluto is a planet though because that's what science taught me o_o

I take ballet and I love it. I am quite guilty because I am very bad with practice and rarely go over things. I guess I am just rather lazy and for this fact I will not grow to be very good. however since I only pursue it as a hobby this in not dire (still want to grow to at least be able to teach but...) I like to dance around the house and sometimes at school, without thinking I will just dance! I have gone onto pointe this year and love so much even though it hurts. I love the Romantic era ballets and tutus. Ballet is a magnificent art! honestly though my love for it started as only a little girly pretty thing like at 2. thank goodness I hate to let my interests go or else I would quit like everyone else in my class after growing out of it. I am glad that I can love it in a more realistic way now.
