Why do so many people cry on their periods? I don't experience anything different emotionally. Well, maybe I'd feel a bit helpless about cramps, but that's about it. I never actually cry.

Sorry to hear that Albirea, but from my experiance anything I was looking forward to it generally shows up, even if it wasn't due for a few more days.

I get the terrible mood swings, crying etc. I honestly don't know how my partner can put up with me screaming at him all the time, but then again he doesn't really co-operate much which winds me up when I calm. The differance between my latest episode now is I'm getting really hot flushes which is a new thing. On the plus side I can generally always tell when my period is coming. Its due tomorrow, so hopefully my mood will level out. I don't generally get cramping whilst bleeding, just before.

Started my period today. Maybe that's why I didn't feel as enthusiastic about seeing Dark Shadows yesterday as I would have liked to have been. Yeah, on the outside I was all hyped up about it, making lots of posts and acting happy in front of my family and friends, but on the inside I had my doubts. I actually thought while watching the movie, "Am I actually disappointed by this?" Me? Disappointed by a Tim Burton and Johnny Depp movie? The very idea sickens me.

I'm not on my period but I can REALLY FEEL IT when I'm ovulating. I actually start getting cramps, starting with one of my ovaries. the pain spreads down and to my back. It's awful! I feel the similarly lightheaded, nauseous, and shaky way that I do when on my period. It's very painful, and I already get week-long periods in which I end up fainting from pain every now and then... :pale:

My guess would be hormone sensitivity... maybe the hormones just affect your limbic system differently.

Ugh got my period and I feel constipated. Reminds me of early labor when it started because I also felt constipated. The cramps come and go. I had real bad ones in my legs this morning so I took pills for it. Then I felt better about a half hour later and went back to sleep.

I don't get periods anymore but I still get anxiety and general grumpiness. The anxiety gets pretty bad just before or during when my period would be. And oh, before before my period would start, I would be really hungry all the time! Fun times :P

Well, finally, my period comes after being a week late. That doesn't happen anymore. But this time I've got my ibuprofen handy, so bring it on, cramps. Bring it on.

Cramps again, so I'll be on the ibuprofen for a few days now. :/

Mine started yesterday and my pain is always worse on the second day. I usually can't stand to do anything on the 2nd day but it's my mum's birthday today and now I'm out with her... But there's something odd about my pain. Usually it's a dull yet strong pain and discomfort in my general lower abdomen area but today it's different. Now I'm getting sharp, stabbing pains in my lower middle, lower right and lower right back instead. It feels like someone forced a tampon into my lower right back.

Are these sharp, stabbing pains normal?

I didn't tell my mum I feel like crap. :(

I think I'm on day 10 of my cycle and I have so much spotting it's almost like I already have my period again. When I was younger I never had spotting and it make me worry that something is wrong with me. I know I should get a pelvic exam but I have too much anxiety about making phone calls to call Planned Parenthood and try to make an appointment and I have no insurance or money.

I actually managed to call Planned Parenthood today and make an appointment. It's not for over two weeks though and I think I'll be on my period then so I don't even know if they can do anything. My spotting is the worst it's ever been and it's scaring me. There must be something wrong with me.

PMSing right now... Feel like crying. I'm going to make some cheesy pasta and scarf it down with red wine. That'll make me feel better...or nauseated.

Finally started my period today, after skipping my last two. And in case you're wondering, there's no way I could have been pregnant because I'm still a virgin. I've just always had irregular periods. The symptoms have come on pretty strong for only being the first day, so I know I'm in for a rough week. I'm going to be the most miserable tomorrow because the 2nd day is always the worst for me.

^^^ i know its bad to skip them but im sorta jealous. i once skipped mine for half a year because i was so underweight and it was the best 6months ever.

mine started today at the worst possible time- the middle of a refugee rights rally. luckily i was prepared and had packed a tampon in my pocket only i had no idea how to use one. i dont think i liked it. and i was so hungry i accidentally got myself 2 donuts. every meal i have had this week was chocolate. all of them. i dont understand why i have to have crap periods and also really bad premenstrual symptoms of the kind that are embarrassing to talk about and ive never heard of anyone else saying they get them too. the next few days im sure i'll be back to winge some more, they came early this cycle. the pms i mean. at least the cat is here to help. better than painkillers which never seem to kick in and theres only so many you can take without killing yourself.
